Civil Police Narcotics Division seizes 180 kg of drugs in Cametá
The sniffer dog “Kyra” was essential in locating the drugs hidden in a plot of land in the Ajarapema community

An operation by the Civil Police of Pará, through the State Narcotics Division (DENARC) and the River Police Station (DPFLU/DRCO), on Wednesday (30), resulted in the seizure of approximately 180 kg of narcotic substances in the Ajarapema community, in the municipality of Cametá.
The searches began with a procedure for "verifying the origin of the information," as the property under investigation was indicated as a support location for drug trafficking. "The residence, located on the banks of the Tocantins River, was supposedly used as support for fishing vessels that transported narcotics. It was a hideout used while there was a change of vessels, an action known as mocó," explains the director of DENARC, delegate Davi Cordeiro.
Earlier this week, the Narcotics Division was informed that a vessel had arrived at the location. "Given the information presented, last Tuesday, teams from DENARC and DPFLU went to the community. The house was uninhabited at the time of the agents' arrival, but with signs of habitation," reveals the director.

The sniffer dog “Kyra” was used in the searches. Initially, nothing was found; however, the animal was able to indicate the exact location where the narcotics were stored, in a plot of land near the investigated address. "The police located bags containing blocks of substances analogous to oxi and marijuana, totaling 180 kg of narcotics," informed Benassuly, the general delegate of the Civil Police. "The operation reinforces the PC's guideline to intensify measures against drug trafficking and criminal factions," he concluded.

The illicit material was sent to DENARC and will undergo forensic examination. A police inquiry was initiated to investigate the circumstances and authorship of the crime.
