The Civil Police of Pará has intensified policing in eleven police stations located in cities and districts that usually receive a large number of visitors during the extended Labor Day holiday. The operation began on the morning of this Thursday (1st) and will continue until next Monday (5th).

More than 100 civil police officers and administrative staff have been mobilized to act in units located in Mosqueiro, Outeiro, Marapanim, Marudá, Abaetetuba, Vila dos Cabanos, Cametá, Soure, Salinas, and Bragança. The operational structure has also been reinforced with the deployment of 17 additional vehicles.

"Our goal is to ensure greater tranquility for residents and visitors who have traveled to the interior of the state and to the resorts in the districts of Belém, such as Mosqueiro and Outeiro. We have also reinforced our actions under the Dry Law," highlighted Delegate Hennison Jacob, Director of Interior Police and itinerant coordinator of the operation.

This action is part of the calendar of the State Secretariat for Public Security and Social Defense (Segup) for holiday periods and major events. The activities are coordinated through the Office of the Deputy General Delegate (DGA), the Directorate of Interior Police (DPI), and the Directorate of Metropolitan Police (DPM).

During the holiday, several DPM units in the Metropolitan Region of Belém operate on a 24-hour shift. The Sections of São Brás, Sacramenta, Marambaia, Icoaraci, Mosqueiro, and Outeiro will be open for in-person reporting of occurrences — with special reinforcement in the last two. The sections of Ananindeua, Cidade Nova, and Marituba, as well as the Benevides Police Station, will also remain operational. The other police stations, which operate on a regular schedule, will remain closed during the holiday.

In addition to public service at the police stations, the Dry Law operation teams conducted approaches and guidance for drivers, providing support for legal procedures. In Salinópolis, agents were called to respond to a traffic accident on Avenida Dr. Miguel de Santa Brígida. "We moved to the indicated location and began efforts to locate the cause of the accident, who fled the scene driving under the influence of alcohol. He was located, taken to the Salinópolis Police Station, and subjected to a breathalyzer test, which confirmed the infraction. He was arrested in flagrant for driving under the influence and for driving without a license. Bail was set, and if not paid, he will remain in custody at the disposal of the Justice," informed Delegate Felipe Mendonça.

The operation aims to prevent crimes and maintain public order during the holiday, ensuring the tranquility of the population of Pará and those visiting the state.
