Hemopa's blood donation campaign mobilizes college in Ananindeua
The action contributes to the replenishment of stocks and reinforces the culture of solidarity among young people and adults

The Pará Center for Hemotherapy and Hematology Foundation (Hemopa) held, this Wednesday (7), another strategic external blood collection action. This time, in partnership with the Madre Celeste Higher School (Esmac), located in Ananindeua, in the Metropolitan Region of Belém. The initiative aims to expand access to voluntary donation and reinforce the stocks of the state blood center.

The structure of the campaign was set up within the educational institution itself, with a room adapted to ensure safety, comfort, and agility during the service to volunteers. Students, teachers, and staff from Esmac actively participated in the mobilization, which reinforces the importance of the academic community's involvement in the cause of blood donation.

The social worker at Hemopa Foundation, Lorene Mota, emphasized the partnership with Esmac. "The college once again opens its doors for a beautiful act of solidarity. We thank the institution for its support and the engagement of the students in this gesture of citizenship that saves lives," she stated.

The academic coordinator of Esmac, Professor Silvana Almeida, highlighted the institution's commitment to the mobilization. "This is the second year we participate in this important campaign. We conducted two months of awareness with undergraduate and graduate students, and today we count on the voluntary support of students from the courses of Biomedicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Psychology, and Nutrition, with coordinations directly involved in the organization," she emphasized.

For psychology student David Handel Vale, donating blood is a way to put into practice the values learned in professional training. "Participating in this campaign is rewarding. It is a gesture that saves lives and strengthens the sense of empathy and social responsibility within our academic community," he pointed out.
The collected bags will be destined for the care of the public and contracted hospital network of Pará. The health network depends daily on the voluntary gesture of donors to ensure treatment for patients in urgent situations, surgeries, childbirths, and hematological diseases.
