Oscar-winning documentary 2025 premieres at Cine Líbero Luxardo this Thursday (8)

Premiering this Thursday (8) at Cine Líbero Luxardo, the Palestinian documentary "Sem Chão", winner of the Oscar 2025, tells the story of a Palestinian activist documenting the destruction of his community by the Israeli occupation. In addition, "Pecadores", the new film by Ryan Coogler, arrives at the screen of the most charming cinema in Belém.

In the award-winning "Sem Chão", we follow Basel Adra, a Palestinian activist documenting the destruction of his community, and Yuval, an Israeli journalist who joins the cause. The relationship between the two is marked by tensions and inequalities, reflecting the conflicts of the territory that divide them.

The documentary, which took 5 years to film, has been awarded at various festivals around the world and won the Oscar 2025 statuette in the category of "Best Documentary". The work features the collective direction of Yuval Abraham, Basel Adra, and Hamdan Ballal.

“Pecadores”, directed by Ryan Coogler, dives into a psychological drama with touches of suspense and horror. The feature stars Michael B. Jordan in two roles, playing twin brothers who return to their hometown to restart their lives but end up confronted by a supernatural force. The film received mostly positive reviews, with praise for the performances, Coogler's direction, and the score composed by Ludwig Göransson.

"Homem com H" - Directed by Esmir Filho, the biopic "Homem com H" celebrates the life and art of Ney Matogrosso and gains extra sessions, remaining for another week at Cine Líbero Luxardo.

The film follows Ney's origins in Bela Vista in Mato Grosso do Sul and the constant family clashes due to his father's prejudices. Upon leaving home and moving to São Paulo, Ney begins his artistic career.
