Uepa will have a Professional Master's Degree in Educational Processes and Technologies in 2026
The University formalized its participation in the Professional Master's Degree, which is set to begin in the first semester of next year, with an in-person class on the Ananindeua campus.
The State University of Pará (Uepa) has already institutionalized its participation in the newly approved Professional Master's Degree in Educational Processes and Technologies, a national network program proposed by the State University of Amazonas (UEA), and composed of eight other Higher Education Institutions (IES). At Uepa, the approval was formalized by Resolution No. 4283/25-Consun, promulgated on April 16, 2025, during an ordinary session of the University Council (Consun).
The course is scheduled to start in the first semester of 2026, with an initial offering of an in-person class on the Ananindeua campus (Metropolitan Region of Belém), mediated by educational technologies. The announcement of the selection notice is expected by the end of 2025. Uepa will offer 10 spots, prioritizing teachers from Basic Education working in the public network.

Diversity - According to the local coordinator of the Program at Uepa, Professor Luely Oliveira da Silva, the course is the result of a collective construction, emphasizing the training needs of teachers who work in the daily life of schools. “Our expectation is to attract these teachers who are on the ground in schools, to articulate their teaching practices with the investigation of the educational reality of the Amazon. ProfEducatec was designed to embrace this diversity that characterizes our region and strengthen the innovative use of technologies in pedagogical processes,” she informed.
The professor also highlighted that the pedagogical project is common to all the institutions involved, and that the model of delivery will be in-person with technological mediation, allowing simultaneous classes in different states, with the support of local teachers.
“This is a very important point. Although the course is in-person, some subjects will be taught with technological mediation between the poles. Still, students will be in their respective campuses, accompanied by teachers from the local institution,” she explained. In addition to Luely Oliveira, the local coordination includes the participation of Professor Bianca Venturieri as the deputy coordinator. Both are leading the implementation of the program at Uepa, with the support of the Pro-Rectorate of Research and Postgraduate Studies (Propesp), directed by Pro-Rector Jofre Jacob Freitas.
Exchange - The new master's program adds to Uepa's history of action in teacher training and strengthening stricto sensu postgraduate education in Pará. The expectation is that ProfEducatec will maintain constant dialogue with already consolidated programs of the institution, such as the Postgraduate Program in Education (PPGED). “This coexistence certainly generates an important exchange. Our faculty is interdisciplinary, with professors from the centers of social, natural, and biological sciences, which favors broad discussions about curriculum, pedagogical practices, teacher knowledge, and educational technologies,” added Luely Oliveira.
The course proposal, approved by Capes (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel), emphasizes: “The approval of the Professional Master's Degree in Educational Processes and Technologies in a National Network represents a great achievement for the construction of new teacher training policies in Brazil, and demonstrates, in a very compelling way, the commitment of the nine associated IES in conducting the Program and, consequently, with Brazilian Basic Education.”
In addition to the State University of Pará (Uepa) and the State University of Amazonas, the following state institutions are part of the network: State University of Maranhão (Uema), State University of Mato Grosso (Unemat), State University of the Tocantina Region of Maranhão (Uemasul), State University of Montes Claros (Unimontes), State University Vale do Acaraú (UVA), State University of Maringá (UEM), and University of Pernambuco (UPE). The program will focus on the area of Education (Area 51 of Capes) and will offer training aimed at valuing pedagogical practices based on local and regional realities.
