With support from SEEL, Pará athlete stands out among the best in the country at the Brazilian Boxing Championship
Indré Melo achieved 5th place nationally in his category and highlighted the importance of support from the Government of Pará, through Seel, for his participation in the competition

With support from the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat for Sports and Leisure (Seel), Pará athlete Indré Melo had a standout performance at the Brazilian Men's Elite Boxing Championship, promoted by the Brazilian Boxing Confederation (CBBoxe), the highest authority in Olympic boxing in the country. The competition took place from May 3 to 7 at the Rafain Palace Hotel & Convention Arena in Foz do Iguaçu (PR).
Representing the state, Indré won his first fight against an opponent from Amapá but was defeated on points in the medal match against an athlete from Sergipe, finishing his participation in fifth place nationally in his category.

With a record of 35 fights — 29 wins and 6 losses — the fighter is a three-time champion of Pará and currently ranks fifth in the national ranking. Although he did not reach the podium in this edition, Indré emphasized the importance of the experience gained in the competition.
"Participating in the Brazilian Championship is an incredible feeling. Just being there among the best in the country, facing each other, is already a great learning experience," he stated.
The athlete also highlighted the fundamental role of the support received. "Having the support of the Secretariat was of utmost importance on this trip. It helped a lot. I believe that if most athletes had this support, we could achieve much better results for the State in competitions."
The Brazilian Elite Boxing Championship 2025 brought together 204 athletes from 22 Brazilian states, in addition to 87 members of technical commissions, establishing itself as one of the largest events in national Olympic boxing. For the first time, the competition featured two rings operating simultaneously, providing greater dynamism to the matches.
With determination and focus, Indré Melo returns to training aiming for the upcoming competitions, keeping alive the pursuit of the dreamed Brazilian title.
