Traffic on Avenida Visconde de Souza Franco, in Belém, will be altered in several sections starting at 7 am this Saturday (10), for the advancement of the Nova Doca works, including the sanitation network. The investments are part of the legacies of COP 30, the World Climate Conference, which will take place in the capital of Pará in November 2025.

To ensure the safety of construction workers, as well as pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers, partial or total closure of the following roads will be necessary:

– Avenida Visconde de Souza Franco, between Rua Belém and Avenida Marechal Hermes - one lane blocked – this Saturday (10), from 7 am to 12 pm;

– Avenida Visconde de Souza Franco, between Ruas Bernal do Couto and Diogo Moia - one lane blocked – this Saturday (10), from 7 am to 4 pm;

– Rua Belém, with Avenida Visconde de Souza Franco - total blockage – from this Saturday (10) until Sunday (11), from 7 am to 10 pm;

– Intersection of Avenida Visconde de Souza Franco, between Avenida Senador Lemos and Rua 28 de Setembro - total blockage – from this Saturday (10) until Monday (12), from 7 am to 10 pm. In this section, traffic in both directions on Avenida Visconde de Souza Franco will remain open. For those traveling on Avenida Senador Lemos, it will be necessary to turn right. Those traveling on Avenida Visconde de Souza Franco, towards Avenida Marechal Hermes, will not be able to turn left, towards Rua 28 de Setembro.

During the closure period, the State Department of Public Works (Seop) advises drivers to use access via alternative routes.

Nova Doca - The work is already 76% completed, with work on the eight modules along the road. The Government of Pará has already removed the barriers from Blocks 1 and 2 of the Linear Park, which are receiving finishing work, sustainable landscaping, and the installation of public equipment. The areas have also received new asphalt.

The Nova Doca – a partnership between the Government of Pará and the Federal Government, through Itaipu Binacional – involves 1.2 kilometers of canal, with drainage, landscaping, urbanization, and construction of walkways, in addition to the replacement of the gates for tide control, in order to prevent flooding.

More than 2.4 kilometers of Avenida Visconde de Souza Franco will also be paved, and another deep and superficial drainage system will be built to receive rainwater, a sanitary sewage network, drinking water piping, a bike lane, and a clean energy system.

Sanitation – The first stage of sanitation in Sub-Basin 4.1.1 of Una is reaching 40% completion. The work is being carried out by the Government of Pará, through Seop, in partnership with the Federal Government, via Itaipu Binacional.

The sewage collection network being constructed will bring more quality of life to the population, preventing the improper discharge of sewage. The waste collected in the region will be treated at the Una Station, located on Arthur Bernardes Highway.

The sanitation of Sub-Basin 4.1.1 of Una includes about 7,600 meters of sewage collection network; installation of approximately 140 units of Inspection Wells (PV); execution of about 700 units of household branches; demolition and reconstruction of asphalt pavement, and construction of a pumping station and a shelter for a generator.
