The Pará Center for Hemotherapy and Hematology Foundation (Hemopa) held a blood donation campaign in partnership with the National Service of Commercial Learning (Senac) in Belém on Tuesday (13). The action was part of the "Solidarity Moms" program, in homage to Mother's Day, to reinforce the stocks of the state blood network and encourage solidarity among the institution's students.

According to Hemopa's social worker, Priscila Nobre, about 25 students from the nursing technical course participated in the activity, accompanied by teacher Ellen Salles. "This is a long-standing partnership. It was scheduled for last Friday but had to be rescheduled. Today we managed to take half of the class to donate blood, which represents an important contribution for patients who depend on this gesture," she stated.

The visit of the students is part of Senac's pedagogical model, which addresses topics such as blood components and the importance of donation. "The students have already gone through the theoretical part and, each semester, they participate in Hemotour, where they get to know Hemopa and experience the process practically. It is an experience that usually generates a lot of engagement," explained teacher Ellen Salles.

In total, 13 students were able to complete the donation. "For many, it was their first time. Even without prior experience, they showed enthusiasm and understood the impact of this act," highlighted the teacher.

Débora Nunes, donor and nursing technician student

Among the participants, student Débora Nunes shared the emotion of donating blood for the first time. "It was all very smooth, from the screening to the collection. Knowing that my donation can help someone is a unique feeling. It is a simple gesture that saves lives," she said.
