Segup delivers Ballistic Vests to all agencies with municipal traffic in the state
Through the State Policy for Supporting Municipal Public Security Agencies (Peosp), the state completes the delivery of more than 3,300 ballistic vests to municipal agencies in 74 cities in Pará

The State Secretariat for Public Security and Social Defense (Segup) delivered six ballistic vests to the municipal traffic agency of Jacareacanga, located in the southwest of Pará, on the morning of this Friday (16). With this shipment, the State completes the delivery of more than 3,310 ballistic vests intended for municipal security agencies in 74 cities in Pará, as part of actions to strengthen the integrated public security system.
The initiative is part of the State Policy for Supporting Municipal Public Security Agencies (Peosp), which aims to equip and value municipal guards and traffic agents who work directly in security actions. Last Tuesday (13), Segup also delivered seven vests to the municipal traffic agency of Mojuí dos Campos.

“Today we carried out the last delivery of vests intended for the municipal agencies of the State, covering the cities with municipal traffic. These are equipment that adds to everything that has already been delivered throughout the administration, strengthening the Peosp. In addition to the vests, the Municipal Guard of Belém has already been provided with vehicles, motorcycles, drones, communication radios, among other investments from the Government of Pará. We continue this partnership, reinforcing our integration strategy, essential for public security. This ensures that municipal agents can perform their duties with dignity and more protection,” highlighted the State Secretary of Public Security, Ualame Machado.
To equip the traffic agencies and municipal guards, the Government of Pará invested R$ 4,531,816.75, with resources from the state treasury.

Integration and public policies – The Peosp aims to ensure the strengthening, encouragement, and appreciation of municipal public security agencies. As one of the axes of the State Public Security Plan, launched in 2022, the policy establishes effective integration between the State and municipalities, with actions such as the delivery of equipment, training of agents, and modernization of local operations.
Among the municipalities benefiting from security equipment are Portel, Breves, Oriximiná, Moju, Pacajá, and Jacareacanga, all with municipal traffic.

The coordinator of the Municipal Traffic Coordination of Jacareacanga, Andreison Teles Campos, emphasized the importance of the partnership for the daily activities of the agents. “With the municipalization of traffic in Jacareacanga, we were able to equip our agents so that we can carry out our work on the roads and streets more safely. This initiative of integration between the State and municipality is very important, strengthening our activities so that we can operate more safely,” he stated.
