Estação das Docas celebrated 25 years with a weekend full of music and excitement

Estação das Docas, in Belém, celebrated its 25th anniversary with a special program that brought together music, culture, sustainability, and moments of fellowship from May 16 to 18. The free event attracted locals and tourists to the complex's waterfront. The celebration concluded this Sunday, and not even the rain could deter the audience, who danced and sang along with the band Reggaetown and singer Markinho Duran.
The celebration began on Friday (16), with the sunset reflecting over the Guajará Bay and a festive atmosphere in the air. The group Som de Pau Oco opened the program, bringing the contagious rhythm of carimbó to the audience present. Singer Arthur Espíndola also gave a memorable performance, getting the audience to sing along to great samba and MPB hits.

On Saturday (17), activities began at 5 PM with children's recreation, providing lots of fun for the kids. Following that, to mark the memory of the children and their families, everyone was invited to participate in a sustainability action of the 'Estação Verde' project, with a beautiful planting of an Ipê seedling.
“We want you, whenever you are here at the Estação, to visit this Ipê that you helped plant, and always remember, as it grows, and you too, children, how beautiful and important nature is, and how we must always collaborate for its maintenance,” declared Roni Ferreira, Operational Coordinator of Estação das Docas.

In the evening, the highlight was the traditional “happy birthday” for the 25 years of Estação das Docas, with cake shared among those present. To honor the occasion, Ruan Rocha, the director-president of OS Pará 2000, was invited to the stage, highlighting the importance of the complex for the city and also thanking everyone who contributes to the full operation of the complex. “I would like to express my gratitude to all the collaborators of OS Pará 2000. Since the inauguration of the Estação, in the early 2000s, Pará 2000 has been responsible for managing the space. Over the years, we have had a dedicated team that works in various segments and is always on the move to ensure everything runs smoothly,” said the manager.
The moment of celebration also featured the presence of Rosemary Rebelo, who represented the State Secretary of Tourism, reinforcing institutional support for the tourist complex. “I am here representing our State Secretary of Tourism, Dr. Eduardo Costa, and we can only congratulate this important tourist facility, which is completing 25 years. Because it is such a well-maintained public asset, many still think it is new, but it is not! It has been 25 years of history, of service to the population and visitors,” she emphasized.
The audience also played a significant role, actively participating in the program, dancing along with the attractions, making the most of the party, and singing happy birthday in unison while sharing the birthday cake.
And those from outside who witnessed all of this up close were enchanted by the culture and vibrancy of the people of Pará, as highlighted by journalist Keli Silveira from the Blog “Vá, Viaje.”
“I felt inside and part of the essence of Pará culture during the celebrations of the 25th anniversary of Estação das Docas. I watched musical performances and families dancing to regional songs, like carimbó. And the cherry on top for me was the enthusiasm of the children at Estação Verde. It was a breath of hope to see all those little hands united in planting a yellow ipê; it is a sign that the future is sustainable and ancestral! Congratulations to the event organizers,” declared the journalist.
Sunday (18) concluded the festivities with the Banda Reggaetown, followed by singer Markinho Duran. Even with rain, the audience made sure to sing and dance along to great national and international hits in the rhythms of reggae and pop rock.
The 25th anniversary program of Estação das Docas was promoted by the Government of Pará, through the State Secretary of Tourism (Setur) and carried out by the Social Organization Pará 2000, responsible for managing the tourist facility. The party also received support from the children's recreation space Estação Curumim, which is part of the service mix of Estação das Docas.
