Detranzinho welcomes students from Igarapé-Açu
Students learned about the Sentinela and the "Irmãos Guimarães" Library
The State Department of Traffic (Detran) received about 25 students from the Municipal School Guilherme de La Roque, from the municipality of Igarapé-Açú, in the Guamá Integration region, on Thursday (22). During the visit, children aged 7 to 10 participated in the educational project "Detranzinho", which aims to raise awareness among young children about the main risk factors in traffic.
The Detran's traffic education coordinator, Carlos Valente, spoke about the integration of Detran with schools, through various educational actions that the agency carries out throughout the year in the municipalities.
"We are welcoming the students from Igarapé-Açú, who came as a result of the educational actions carried out in the municipality. Today, the focus is directed towards this important pedagogical space, with guidance for daily life, such as the use of helmets, seat belts, transporting children, and the main risk factors, in order to promote citizenship, respect, and care in traffic."
In Detranzinho, the pedagogical program was designed according to the age group of the students, who were organized into cinema rooms and educational activities, according to their age and the proposed activities. All actions had the main focus of teaching and raising awareness about the importance of safe behaviors and the laws that govern traffic, contributing to the formation of responsible future drivers.
According to the Detran's traffic education agent, Nayane Maués, the school's visit to the Department is the result of the educational actions carried out in the municipality. "This visit was motivated by the work we do in the municipality with schools. During our activities, we presented our pedagogical space, and they felt motivated and inspired to have this moment here. During the visit to the Detranzinho mini-circuit, urban, human, and accessible mobility were addressed, linking it to environmental issues as well, and how traffic and the environment are integrated," explained Nayane.
The teacher and pedagogical coordinator of the Guilherme De La Roque School, Jucélia Costa, spoke about the importance of Detranzinho for the students. "Our school has already gone through a tragedy, with the loss of a student at the door, which affected us greatly. About 80% of the parents take their children to school by motorcycle, and in an irregular manner, and today, here, you are showing them the importance of safety in traffic, from the ground up. This project is an excellent initiative, as it plants seeds that can transform the reality of families," she emphasized.
Luna Martins, 9 years old, spoke about what she learned during the visit. "I learned about Detran and that when we ride a motorcycle, we can't have more than two people, because it's wrong and we could have an accident. I also learned about the traffic light, red means stop, yellow means caution, and green means go, I really liked visiting Detran in Belém," she evaluated.
The children got to know the Video Monitoring Center, the "Sentinela", which can detect in real-time vehicles with overdue licensing and reports of theft or robbery, drivers without helmets, without a driver's license (CNH), and driving on the shoulder, among other irregularities. The image identifies details such as license plate, chassis, highway, kilometer, and municipality where the vehicle is traveling.
The students also visited the Detran library, which in addition to a large collection of books, has a vast bibliographic material, and offers a wide range of materials directed exclusively to children, including toys, DVDs, drawings, paintings, educational games, and works on various subjects, all focused on traffic themes.
