An action carried out by the State Narcotics Division (DENARC) resulted in the flagrant arrest of three individuals and the seizure of approximately 200 kilograms of cocaine. The operation took place on Friday (23), at a rural property located in Vila Arienga, in the municipality of Barcarena.

The suspects, originally from the state of São Paulo, were caught by agents while handling the drug and organizing materials that would be used to transport the narcotic.

“In addition to the cocaine, various items such as balloons, adhesive tapes, and airtight bags, commonly used for packaging drugs, were found. The property where the suspects were located served as a storage and packaging point for the illicit substance,” details Delegate Davi Cordeiro, director of DENARC.

The action is the result of investigations initiated after an operation carried out on May 6 of this year, also in Barcarena. At that time, two blocks of cocaine, a firearm, ammunition, and materials suspected of being used in the transportation of narcotics were seized. No arrests were made then, but an identity document of a São Paulo individual was found at the scene.

“From this finding, a police inquiry was initiated, through which we identified the man related to the document. The investigations revealed that he was still in the municipality and continued to engage in activities typical of drug trafficking. Based on the information obtained, we began to monitor him, identifying a vehicle and a rural property located in Vila Arienga. After days of surveillance, movement consistent with trafficking was observed, and we conducted an incursion at the location, where we caught the three men with the drug,” explained the delegate.

In light of the facts, the suspects were charged in flagrant for the crimes of drug trafficking and conspiracy to traffic, according to articles 33 and 35 of Law No. 11.343/2006. After legal procedures, they were sent to the penitentiary system, where they remain at the disposal of Justice.

The Civil Police teams continue the investigations to identify and locate other possible individuals involved in the criminal scheme.
