Five State Health Units of Pará Promote Multiprofessional Week
Initiative held in Belém, Marabá, and Tucuruí aims to strengthen self-care, mental health, and the integration of health professionals

The 1st Multiprofessional Week "Caring for Those Who Care: Sowing Health at Every Step" began this Monday (26), a joint initiative of five public health units in Pará aimed at valuing professionals in the care area. The event runs until Friday (30), taking place simultaneously in Belém (Galileu Public Hospital and Metropolitan Polyclinic), Marabá (Southeast Pará Regional Hospital and Carajás Polyclinic), and Tucuruí (Lake Polyclinic).
Throughout the week, professionals participate in lectures, discussion circles, dynamics, self-care activities, and integration moments. The proposal is to promote health, strengthen bonds between teams, and encourage practices that contribute to quality of life in the workplace.

Doctor and health manager, Camylla Rocha, was one of the speakers responsible for opening the event. In her speech, she highlighted the challenges faced daily by health workers. "We talk a lot about the importance of caring for the patient, but there is still little debate about who cares for the caregiver. Specific stress and emotional exhaustion are realities present in this category, affecting not only the physical and mental health of professionals but also the quality of care provided to the population," she warned.
The doctor also emphasized that the event proposes a necessary and symbolic pause for valuing those on the front lines of care.
"Neuroscience already shows us that self-care is not a luxury, it is a necessity. Simple practices like sleeping well, eating mindfully, allowing oneself to pause, reconnecting with a purpose, and maintaining healthy relationships make all the difference in the integral health of the worker," Camylla added.

The Multiprofessional Week is organized by the Institute of Social and Environmental Health of the Amazon (ISSAA), in partnership with the State Department of Public Health of Pará (Sespa). The initiative reinforces the institutions' commitment to comprehensive care for employees, recognizing that healthier and more motivated professionals directly impact the quality of care provided to the population.
The psychologist and institutional quality manager of ISSAA, Paula Narjara Cartágenes, also participated in the action and presented an expanded perspective on health work.
"It was an honor to collaborate and share ISSAA's experience, showing how the active involvement of multiprofessional teams is essential to broaden the view on the social determinants of health, promoting equity and sustainability in the health system," she stated.
Program
On May 27 and 28, the program continues with internal activities focused on well-being and team integration. Leisure activities such as bingo, quizzes, and movie sessions are planned, as well as self-care practices, including massages, beauty treatments, and group dynamics. The agenda also includes discussion circles, educational lectures, and spaces for listening and support.

For the care director of ISSAA, Ângela Barbosa, the Multiprofessional Week represents more than an event: it is a concrete expression of recognition.
"It is our way of valuing the protagonism of everyone who works in our units. We believe in the strength of teamwork, in respecting the diversity of knowledge, and in the power of care built collectively. It is in the sum of knowledge, experiences, and different perspectives that we offer more humane, efficient, and integrated assistance," she concluded.
On the 29th, the program will resume with new lectures on relevant topics for the work environment, such as effective communication, diversity, inclusion, and collaboration. The lectures will be given by Vanessa Bremer, a specialist in psychoanalysis and auditing, and Lúcia Poletti, an educator and specialist in community education.
To close the week, on the 30th, there will be internal actions dedicated to reflecting on the learnings and experiences shared throughout the program.
