On the night of this Monday (26), the Military Police of Pará, through the 35th Battalion, seized 850 boxes of cigarettes that were being transported irregularly in a minibus on Avenida Curuá-Una, Urumari neighborhood, in the municipality of Santarém. The action was part of Operation Maximum Load, which started on the 19th of this month of May and had the support of teams from CPR-1 and the State Department of Finance (Sefa).

The approach occurred after information was passed on by the Intelligence Center (NRI). During the inspection, the agents found that the transported material showed discrepancies between the species, quantities, and values described on the invoice and the products actually loaded.

The vehicle was transporting 450 boxes of A2 Blue Box cigarettes and 400 boxes of US Fox Blue Box. All the material was seized and sent to the Civil Police Section, where legal procedures were initiated.

According to the commander of the 35th Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Eduardo Carvalho, "the action of the Military Police reinforces the corporation's commitment to combating crime and tax evasion. The seizure carried out during Operation Maximum Load is the result of an integrated intelligence effort and rapid action from our teams. The partnership with other agencies, such as SEFA, is essential to curb illegal practices that harm the State and society."
