The cardiology ICU of HC is the only one in the Northern Region to receive a national excellence seal
In addition to the Top Performer seal, which recognizes the performance of the cardiology ICU, the Hospital de Clínicas also received the Quality Management Certificate for Performance Indicators for the Adult and Pediatric ICUs.

The Gaspar Vianna Hospital de Clínicas (HC), in Belém, received the "Top Performer" certification, which recognizes the institution's Cardiology Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as one of the best in Brazil. The ceremony for the seal delivery, granted by the Brazilian Intensive Care Medicine Association (AMIB) in partnership with Epimed Solutions, was attended by managers, health professionals, and representatives from the certifying company.
HC was the only institution in the Northern Region of the country to achieve recognition in the Cardiology ICUs category, which highlights units with the best performance indicators in the country.
"The Top Performer ICU certificate proves the efficiency, effectiveness, and professionalism of the unit in caring for critically ill patients. The evaluation considers criteria such as the standardized mortality rate and resource utilization, always adjusted to the severity of the cases. The ICUs recognized as Top Performers are among the top 33% in Brazil, according to our efficiency matrix," explained Thaynara Barros, commercial manager of Epimed Solutions for the Northern region and Maranhão.

During the ceremony, the Quality Management Certificates for Performance Indicators were awarded to the Adult and Pediatric ICUs. The recognition certifies that both achieved over 75% data integrity in the Epimed Monitor system, in addition to meeting the criteria of ANVISA's Resolution RDC 7.
According to Thaynara, the set of certifications highlights the commitment of the hospital's ICUs to quality clinical data management, which directly impacts patient safety and the efficiency of intensive care.
For cardiologist Ricardo Palheta, medical chief of the Cardiology ICU, the seal is the result of a long process of evolution for the unit. "This achievement is the result of many years of dedication, from the times when the hospital's cardiology still operated with limited resources. Today we reap the rewards of integrated work, with multidisciplinary teams, committed residents, and management that values reliable data and safe assistance," he emphasized.

The president director of HC, Sipriano Ferraz, also celebrated the achievement as a reflection of collective effort. "Here, everything works like a well-tuned machine. For a surgery to happen, many sectors need to operate with excellence — from sterilization to the surgical center. It is gratifying to experience this moment with all of you. And may it be just the beginning," he stated.
