In Brasília, the governor of the State, Helder Barbalho, met this Tuesday (28) with the Attorney General of the Union, Jorge Messias, to seek solutions that ensure the land regularization of productive areas in Pará, especially in the Maguari plot, located in the region of São Félix do Xingu, southeastern Pará, and in the area of the territories of Cachoeira Seca, in the municipalities of Altamira, Placas, and Uruará, and Ituna Tatá, in the Xingu River basin. The meeting was attended by state deputies Torrinho Torres and Eraldo Pimenta, as well as the president of the Institute of Lands of Pará, Bruno Kono.

"We are here in Brasília to address and find ways to mediate conflicts in some areas of the State, so that we can, with common sense, with dialogue, reconcile the various intentions, interests of people who occupy particularly the Maguari plot, in the region of São Félix do Xingu, as well as the area of Cachoeira Seca and Ituna Tatá, so that we can build solutions that guarantee the rights of rural landowners, settlement areas, urban areas, and also preserve the rights of indigenous peoples," emphasized the governor.

For Jorge Messias, Attorney General of the Union, the presence of Governor Helder at this meeting is of utmost importance, as well as the topics discussed. “The governor brought us three very important cases with conflict zones in the state of Pará, and we committed ourselves with the Attorney General's Office to place our prosecutors to build, with the state of Pará, with the technicians of the state of Pará, starting from the delegation of parliamentarians who were with us, solutions that seek social pacification, legal security, and the regularization of these areas,” said Jorge Messias.

The lawyer also stated that “it is possible to build a scenario in which the regularization of the areas is reconciled with the interests of indigenous peoples, with the interests of land reform settlers, with the interests of rural producers, and people will be able to have peace of mind to carry on with their lives, without any kind of hindrance.”

“It is a pleasure to receive our dear Governor Helder, who has done an extraordinary job for Brazil and for the people of Pará,” he stated.
