In celebration of the 55th anniversary of the Albino Cardoso State School, founded in April 1970, the State Secretary of Education (Seduc) attended the celebration along with the school community this Wednesday (28). Located in the Village of Caratateua, in the municipality of Bragança, the school has recently undergone structural renovations, providing a safer, more comfortable, and suitable environment for the learning of 288 students.

“I was here in 2023 and the unit was in unfavorable conditions. I want to thank that, even with the conditions it was in, the school stood out with the whole team working. We came to celebrate the 55 years of the school and to celebrate the good results. Soon we will have a big party with the governor and vice-governor for the full delivery of the school. It is important to remind parents and guardians that the school is improving, but the family must be involved and participate in the school's convocations, attend meetings to ensure the care of their children. A school with family is what will provide a future for everyone,” said Rossieli Soares, Secretary of Education.

Before the reconstruction, the school had six classrooms. During the works, a new classroom and an office were built, as previously the space operated in a small area that also housed the pedagogical coordination and the administration. Now, these environments are clearly defined and organized, facilitating the work of professionals and the service to the school community.

The reading room has also been reorganized, gaining a more pleasant and functional space for students. In addition, a new kitchen was built. The bathrooms also underwent a major transformation: from a single bathroom shared among boys, girls, and staff, the school now has four female bathrooms, two male bathrooms, one accessible bathroom for People with Disabilities (PCD), and one bathroom exclusively for staff.

“It is amazing to study here now because before the school had some things that were not good, like the walls, the chairs, and the bathrooms, which only had one for everyone. Today, we are in a super special moment for me and for other students who, like me, have been studying here since the sixth grade,” says Maria Eduarda dos Santos, a first-year high school student.

The improvements also included structural works, painting, modernization of classrooms, lighting, and ventilation of the spaces. The unit received an investment of R$ 1,655,964.77.

“Everyone here, teachers, students, and collaborators know the emotion of seeing this space, which is celebrating 55 years. I can only express gratitude to everyone involved. Now we are living a new time and hopefully the unit will be delivered by our Governor in the future,” highlights Joelson Paixão, the unit's director.

The reconstruction contributes to a more welcoming school environment, stimulating educational development and the well-being of the student community.
