Government of Pará conducts survey to optimize productive use of industrial districts
The permanent action of Codec aims to identify inactive areas and expand investment opportunities in various regions of the State

The Government of Pará, through the Pará Economic Development Company (Codec), is conducting another stage of the technical survey in the industrial districts of Belém (Icoaraci) and Ananindeua. The goal is to identify areas with potential for productive reactivation and expand opportunities for new investments.
This monitoring work is part of Codec's permanent actions, which regularly tracks the situation of the industrial hubs in the State. Although most of the lots are already in operation, the two districts continue to attract the interest of investors and show potential for the establishment of new enterprises.
The initiative seeks to update the occupancy status of the areas, mapping companies with activities temporarily or permanently halted and identifying owners interested in new partnerships or negotiations. Codec acts as a facilitator in these processes, providing technical support to investors, focusing on the reactivation of economic activity, job creation, and strengthening the regional economy.

“This survey is strategic. It provides a clearer view of the current occupancy in the districts and paves the way for the State to contribute to the reactivation of these areas, always focusing on generating opportunities and local development,” highlighted the Director of Strategy and Institutional Relations of Codec, Pádua Rodrigues.
Even with practically all lots occupied, business interest continues to grow. The strategic location, logistical access, and consolidated infrastructure make the districts of Belém (with 204.11 hectares) and Ananindeua (with 457.48 hectares) attractive hubs for various productive sectors, such as food, plant extraction, logistics, energy, furniture, wood processing, and civil construction.
“Codec constantly receives expressions of interest for these areas. In many cases, owners face difficulties in implementing their projects and are open to viable alternatives. Our role is to facilitate this productive reconnection, ensuring that the territory continues to fulfill its social and economic function,” stated the Director of Business Attraction and Investments, Manoel Ibiapina.

In addition to the two hubs in the Metropolitan Region, the State Government, through Codec, also offers industrial areas in other strategic regions of the state. The Barcarena Industrial District, created in 1977, has 5,364 hectares and houses large enterprises linked to base industries, chemicals, and logistics. The Marabá district, established in 1987, also with 5,364 hectares, concentrates companies from the mining, steel, and agribusiness sectors.
The new Castanhal Industrial Condominium, currently in the environmental licensing phase, will have 143.04 hectares available for investments. In Santarém, the future industrial district will have 175 hectares and already has resources secured by the Government of Pará for the compensation stage of the areas.
“This is an action that stimulates new businesses, values the industrial assets of the State, and reaffirms the Government's commitment to the sustainable economic development of Pará,” concluded the President of Codec, Lutfalla Bitar.
This action integrates the State's industrial development policy, which seeks to enhance the productive assets already established, increase the attractiveness of new hubs, and ensure the efficient use of existing public infrastructure.
