Hemopa holds blood donation campaign at the Aeronautics Hospital in Belém
The campaign mobilized around 100 young conscripts for voluntary blood donation in partnership with the Brazilian Air Force

The Pará Center for Hemotherapy and Hematology Foundation (Hemopa) promoted, last Thursday (05), a strategic external blood collection action in partnership with the Aeronautics Hospital of Belém, located in the Souza neighborhood. The campaign primarily focused on young conscripts who attended the unit for military enlistment and took the opportunity to make a voluntary blood donation.
The structure of the campaign included support from Hemopa's collection trailer, as well as a room set up within the hospital unit itself, ensuring adequate conditions for welcoming, safety, and comfort for the donors. The initiative is part of a consolidated partnership between Hemopa and the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), which periodically mobilizes military personnel and civilian staff to contribute to the state blood bank.
During the action, about 100 young people participated voluntarily. It is expected that other groups will attend in the coming days, both at Hemopa and at the hospital itself. The collaboration between the institutions has been essential to expand the reach of the campaigns and ensure the regularity of hemocomponent stocks, which supply hospitals and health units throughout Pará.

For Camila Medina, social worker of the Donor Recruitment Management (Gecad) of the Hemopa Foundation, the mobilization at the Aeronautics Hospital is an example of a successful partnership. “This campaign is extremely relevant for us. The hospital is a partner that always contributes a lot to Hemopa. Today we had the presence of almost 100 young people, and the expectation is to receive even more donors in the coming days,” she highlighted.

Lieutenant of the Brazilian Air Force, Alieny Almeida, who is also a social worker at the military unit, emphasized the importance of the action in the formative process of the new conscripts. “Besides the donation itself, the campaign has an educational role. It is a way to awaken civic consciousness in these young people, showing that they can already exercise social responsibility and contribute to a fairer and more supportive society.”
Among the participants of the campaign was the young Maximiliano Neto, who made his first blood donation during the enlistment process. “It’s a simple gesture, but it has a huge impact. I took the opportunity to start contributing to society and to the position I intend to hold with honor. I am very happy to know that I can help those in need. I intend to donate regularly from now on.”
