Ideflor-Bio promotes environmental education action for World Environment Day in São Geraldo do Araguaia
The activity involved the participation of 3rd grade students from the Adventist School of Marabá, who experienced a program focused on environmental awareness and direct contact with nature.

In celebration of World Environment Day, held on Thursday (5), the Administrative Region Management of Araguaia (GRA) of the Institute of Forest Development and Biodiversity of the State of Pará (Ideflor-Bio) promoted an environmental education action at the Serra dos Martírios/Andorinhas State Park, in São Geraldo do Araguaia, in southeastern Pará.
The activity involved the participation of 3rd grade students from the Adventist School of Marabá, who experienced a program focused on environmental awareness and direct contact with nature.
The technicians from Ideflor-Bio began the visit with an educational lecture on the importance of Conservation Units (UCs) and the actions developed in the region, aiming to awaken in young people a sense of belonging and environmental responsibility.
“We believe that environmental education is a powerful tool for transformation. By bringing young people into direct contact with nature, we practically show the value of conservation and encourage responsible attitudes from an early age,” said the head of GRA, Laís Mercedes.

Memorial - The program also included a visit to the Photographic Memorial of Serra das Andorinhas, where students could learn about the natural and cultural attractions of the region through visual records. At the end of the visit, the students participated in an ecological trail to the Quarta Queda waterfall, one of the most symbolic tourist spots of the UC.
The Três Quedas restaurant, a partner in the action, provided lunch for the guides and supporters of the activity, reinforcing the importance of collaboration between public institutions and local enterprises.
Laís Mercedes also highlighted that the initiative reinforced the role of the Institute, through GRA, in promoting environmental education and valuing conservation units as living spaces for learning, preservation, and connection with nature. “This experience reinforces the importance of partnerships for the success of environmental actions. When we unite efforts between schools, local enterprises, and public authorities, we can reach more people and strengthen care for the environment,” concluded the manager.
