Inspectors from the State Department of Finance (Sefa), through the Coordination of Goods in Transit Control in the Tapajós Region, seized last Friday (6), during an inspection on the Amazon River, between the municipalities of Óbidos and Juruti, 2,000 boxes of 269 ml canned beer, totaling 24,000 units, in addition to two barges transporting limestone. The total value of the goods is R$ 544,747.80.

The operation was supported by the Military Police of Santarém and resulted in the issuance of three Terms of Seizure and Deposit (TADs), with a charge of R$ 126,600.82 in taxes and fines.

According to the coordinator of the action, Roberto Mota, the vessel transporting the beers left the state of Amazonas and was destined for an individual in Pará, but without the proper collection of ICMS Substitute Tax.

“During the inspections, we found goods with irregular tax documents. The beer load, for example, did not collect the ICMS-ST, which led to the fine. We also seized barges transporting limestone, one of which declared a price below the minimum value established by the official state bulletin. In the other, it was found that there was no issuance of State Transport Knowledge (CTE) and the transport ICMS,” explained the coordinator.

Seizure of electronics in southeastern Pará

Also on Friday (6), another inspection operation, this time a joint effort between the Goods in Transit Control teams from the Araguaia and Carajás regions, resulted in the seizure of four cell phones, one smartwatch, and one tablet, all without accompanying tax documentation.

The approach occurred after the identification of a transport truck destined for the distribution center located in Marabá. The vehicle, sealed and carrying various goods, was followed to the final destination, where the contents were opened and verified.

“The truck presented tax documents for various electronic products, but upon opening in Marabá, we identified items without any tax documentation. A TAD was issued for the amount of R$ 6,848.21, corresponding to the due tax and fine,” detailed coordinator Renato Couto.

The estimated value of the irregular goods is R$ 16,000.00.
