The city of Belém received a new tool to modernize public transport on Wednesday (11): the app "Vai Passe Fácil". The launch of the platform was promoted by the Belém City Hall in partnership with the Union of Passenger Transport Companies of Belém (Setransbel), with the support of the Government of Pará.

Vai Passe Fácil allows users to pay for their fare through a QR Code generated in the app, which can be downloaded on Android and iOS smartphones.

After registering, the user adds balance via Pix transfer. When using the bus turnstile, they simply present the code for boarding to be released instantly.

During the launch, Governor Helder Barbalho highlighted the importance of technology in users' daily lives. "First, there were investments in 300 new buses. Now, we are implementing a service that, through technology, streamlines the internal processes of the buses and provides more information to users," he declared.

The app is aligned with recent improvements in the bus fleet of the capital of Pará, now composed of vehicles equipped with air conditioning and Wi-Fi.

The mayor of Belém, Igor Normando, also emphasized the relevance of the app for citizens' daily lives. "In addition to the Pix payment mechanism, in a month we will introduce half-fare for students and a GPS system that will allow users to know exactly when the bus will arrive at the stop," he informed. This functionality will provide passengers with greater predictability in their journeys, ensuring comfort and efficiency.

"These innovations represent one of the largest investments in the history of public transport in our city, the result of close collaboration between the Belém City Hall and the State Government," Normando added.

The president of Setransbel, Paulo Gomes, emphasized that this transformation in metropolitan transport had never been seen before. "This joint investment in the transport system was only possible thanks to the historic commitment between the City Hall and the State Government," he stated.

Governor Helder Barbalho emphasized that the goal is to make public transport the main alternative for commuting. "I believe that, with the implementation of more technology and comfort, we will be able to attract more users to the system," he concluded.
