Security System ensures peace of mind and zero occurrences on the second night of Parárraiá
The largest São João in the Amazon, Pararraiá records 100,000 people over the two nights of festivities and a 91.83% reduction in the number of cell phone thefts and robberies
The public safety actions developed in the 2nd edition of the largest São João in the Amazon, Pararraiá, already guarantee a 91.83% reduction in the number of occurrences of cell phone thefts and robberies in the first two days of the event. The data was presented by the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), which coordinates the security scheme in an integrated manner with other state and municipal security agencies.
The acting Secretary of Public Security, Colonel Sérgio Neves, highlights the strategies used by public security that are helping to minimize occurrences so that the public can enjoy the programs with peace of mind.
“In these first two days of the event, we managed to reduce the number of occurrences by more than 90% when we compare it to last year's Parárraiá, where on the first day, 49 occurrences of thefts and robberies were recorded. This year we recorded four thefts. This shows that the scheme set up is working. We are operating with about 1,600 public security agents per day. As on the first night (Thursday, 12), the scheme worked very well, we maintained the strategy for the second day (Friday, 13), and we managed to further reduce the number of records, even zeroing out the most common occurrences, and we will keep it this way until the end of the event so that everyone can come, enjoy with their families, and take advantage of this structure safely,” emphasized the secretary.
Productivity
On the first night of Parárraiá 2025, the Civil Police team recorded 4 cell phone thefts, one misappropriation; the Military Police also made an arrest in flagrant of a man for robbery. On the second night, Friday (13), no occurrences of theft or robbery were recorded, and no flagrant arrests.
The data shows a reduction compared to the numbers recorded in the first edition in 2024, when 49 occurrences were recorded on the first night alone, with 48 for cell phone theft and one for robbery.
The advanced post of the Military Fire Brigade performed 2 emergency and urgent care on the first day. On the second day, there were no attendances. According to the event organization, the estimated audience for the first two days totals 100,000 people.
Visible Policing
The security teams are carrying out visible policing, both inside and around the event location. Outside Mangueirão, policing extends with patrolling on Mangueirão Avenue, Independência, and Augusto Montenegro.
Inside the parking lot, the event location, the Military Police have several teams of ten police officers on continuous rounds, in addition to plainclothes policing conducting rounds and patrolling among the public.
The event also features the presence of the Integrated Mobile Command and Control Center of Segup - CICC - with integrated security teams also recording occurrences, and the Advanced Post of the Fire Brigade, as well as the Fan Police Station for flagrant situations. In total, more than 5,700 public agents are mobilized for the entire event, ensuring greater peace of mind for Pararraiá 2025.
