Parárraiá registers 89% reduction in occurrences over four days of event
In total, more than 5,700 integrated public agents were distributed during the days of the program at Mangueirão
The 2nd edition of the largest São João in the Amazon, Parárraiá, exceeded expectations in the number of occurrences recorded over the four days of the event. According to data from the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), through the Deputy Secretary of Intelligence and Criminal Analysis (Siac), there was a recorded 89.85% decrease in reports compared to the 1st edition of Parárraiá held in 2024.
The result is the fruit of a strong security and organization scheme set up so that the public could enjoy the four days of regional and national attractions presented in the program safely and peacefully, as highlighted by the acting Secretary of Public Security, Col. Sérgio Neves.
“For this year, the Security System developed a very detailed scheme so that we could take advantage of the experience gained from the 1st edition of the event, and thus make the necessary adjustments to further minimize the number of occurrences inside and outside the event venue. We had more than 5,000 agents involved, in addition to our Integrated Mobile Command and Control Center and the Advanced Post of the Military Fire Department for urgent and emergency assistance to the public. Our agents carried out ostensive and preventive policing so that everyone could enjoy and celebrate the São João of the Amazon with their families and the event's programming,” said the secretary.
Reduction and productivity - During the four nights of Parárraiá, the Civil Police teams recorded a total of 20 occurrences, including 7 robberies and 13 thefts, in addition to lost documents, 1 report of physical altercation, 1 false document, defamation, and embezzlement; the Military Police made one arrest in the act of a man for the crime of robbery.
The data shows a reduction of 89.85% compared to the numbers recorded in the first edition in 2024, when a total of 197 occurrences were recorded, including 176 thefts and 21 robberies.
The advanced post of the Military Fire Department performed 9 urgent and emergency assistance during the four days. According to the event organization, the estimated audience reached 500,000 people.
The security teams carried out ostensive policing inside and around the event venue. Extending security actions, with ostensive patrolling on Mangueirão, Independência, and Augusto Montenegro avenues. Inside the parking lot, the Military Police had teams conducting continuous rounds, in addition to covert policing among the public.
