Altamira prepares to host the Chocolate Xingu for the fourth consecutive year
Promoted by Sedap in partnership with the Municipal City Hall, the event will take place on the 26th, 27th, 28th, and 29th of this month at the Vilmar Soares Events Center

Located in the region with the highest cocoa production in Brazil, the municipality of Altamira, in the Xingu Integration Region, will host the International Cocoa and Chocolate Festival for the fourth consecutive year, from the 26th to the 29th of this month. This event is organized by the Secretary of Agricultural Development and Fisheries (Sedap) and the Municipal City Hall of Altamira. The event is funded through resources from the Pará Cocoa Support Fund (Funcacau), coordinated by Sedap.
The program will take place at the Vilmar Soares Events Center, in the central area of the municipality. It will feature 140 booths showcasing a variety of products that use cocoa as a base, such as sweets, creams, jams, chocolates, cakes, among other recipes. There will also be clothing and accessories made from cocoa seeds or even leaves.

The event will feature renowned chefs from Brazil and abroad who will present a variety of recipes to the public in the “ShowCooking” space. There will also be an exhibition on the history of cocoa, a workshop with live sculpture presentations by Brazilian chocolatiers, a sensory experience simulating an Agroforestry System (SAF), a kids' area for children, and lectures with national and international experts.
The coordinator of the Cocoa Productive Chain Development Program (Procacau) – a program of Sedap – agronomist Ivaldo Santana, participated last week in a meeting in the municipality of Altamira to discuss the preparations for the program.

“The goal was to discuss the final adjustments so that the public has the best festival ever held in Altamira. Each year, the event surpasses itself in the number of visitors. We will have 140 booths from different integration regions. In addition to producers from the Transamazon region, representatives from Barcarena, Santa Bárbara, and Igarapé-Miri, among others, will participate,” Santana stated.
The Chocolate Xingu is organized by MVU Promotions and Events. Public access will be free. No registration is required to access the event, according to the festival's organization.
