The Regulatory and Control Agency for Public Transportation Services (Artran) is under new management. Responsible for overseeing and regulating road and waterway services, the Agency directly impacts the lives of thousands of people in Pará who use buses, vans, and boats to travel between municipalities.

Luciano Dias - General Director

Taking the lead of the new management is lawyer Luciano Dias, originally from Marabá, who has previously presided over the Pará Sanitation Company, served as vice-mayor of Marabá, and held positions as Secretary of Health and Education, as well as Regional Integration, Urban and Metropolitan Development in the southeastern city of Pará.

“Changing the leadership does not mean stopping the work. Artran continues to operate normally. Our role is to ensure that intermunicipal public transportation services are increasingly regular, efficient, and of high quality, both for users and for service providers,” emphasizes the new general director.

Denise Pimenta - Director of Regulation and Planning

Alongside him, Denise Pimenta takes over the Directorate of Regulation and Planning, arriving with enthusiasm and many ideas. “The population can expect a lot of work from this new team. We want to listen to people, understand the challenges of each region, and work with data and intelligence to bring concrete improvements,” she points out.

Wildson Mello - Inspection Director

Wildson Mello takes over the Directorate of Inspection and makes it clear that the new management will intensify Artran's presence on the streets, roads, and ports. “We will strengthen oversight because users deserve respect. We will ensure that schedules are met, contracts are followed, and rights, such as free passes, are guaranteed. We will be present, overseeing and dialoguing with companies to ensure they also fulfill their role,” Mello guarantees.

History - The Regulatory and Control Agency for Public Transportation Services of the State of Pará (Artran) was created by State Law No. 10.308, dated December 26, 2023, replacing Arcon. The new agency has administrative and financial autonomy, is linked to Setran, and has police powers to regulate and oversee intermunicipal passenger public transportation, both on the roads and rivers of Pará.

The Agency officially began its activities on June 28, 2024, after a transition period. Since then, it has started to analyze proposals for new services, monitor fares, oversee compliance with regulations, and ensure the quality of transportation provided to the people of Pará.
