Ideflor-Bio delivers nursery for 600 seedlings at the Usina da Paz in Capanema
The institute has already placed more than 300 seedlings of Amazonian flora species in the nursery, such as ingá, cupuaçu, cacao, ipês, andiroba, cumaru, and pau-preto

A nursery, with the capacity to produce up to 600 seedlings of forest and fruit species, is part of the structure of the Usina da Paz in Capanema, delivered by the state government last Saturday (14). The nursery is an initiative of the Institute of Forest Development and Biodiversity of Pará (Ideflor-Bio), aimed at contributing to sustainability and environmental education in northeastern Pará.

The Ideflor-Bio delivered the nursery with more than 300 seedlings of Amazonian flora species, including ingá, cupuaçu, cacao, pink ipê, purple ipê, and yellow ipê, as well as andiroba, cumaru, and pau-preto. The action was coordinated by the Forest Chain Development Directorate (DDF) of the Institute, with the aim of encouraging urban and rural reforestation, as well as strengthening environmental awareness among the residents of Capanema.
The president of Ideflor-Bio, Nilson Pinto, emphasized the importance of the initiative as a tool for education and social transformation. "The delivery of this nursery reinforces our commitment to sustainability and environmental education. We want the community, especially the youth, to understand the importance of forest recovery and to actively engage in the preservation of our biodiversity," he emphasized.

Incentive - For the manager of Production and Forest Productive Arrangements at Ideflor-Bio, Laura Dias, the space will allow the population to better know Amazonian species and understand the importance of environmental preservation. "This nursery is an opportunity to get closer to the forest. Environmental education begins with knowledge of the species that surround us," she stated.

The initiative was received with enthusiasm by the community. Resident Ester Nascimento said she is "very happy with the Usina, and I see this nursery as a way to encourage reforestation. I think it's important for the youth in the city to have this contact with nature."
Strengthening - The delivery of the nursery is part of a set of actions by Ideflor-Bio aimed at the recovery of species and the strengthening of environmental citizenship. All future Usinas da Paz that will be delivered by the Government of Pará will have similar structures, reinforcing the goal of increasing the population's access to environmental education and the cultivation of native species.

"With the installation of these nurseries, Ideflor-Bio hopes to stimulate the planting of seedlings in urban, rural, and school areas, promoting increased vegetation cover, improved air quality, and the protection of biodiversity in the region," added Nilson Pinto.
