Conductor Maria Antonia Jiménez was honored by the Government of Pará for her trajectory leading the Carlos Gomes Choir. The state secretary of culture, Ursula Vidal, highlighted Maria Antonia Jimenez's legacy over the 30 years of the group's existence.

“Today is a special night because we are holding this Lyric Gala as part of the program of our XXIV Opera Festival. And we are celebrating the 30 years of the Carlos Gomes Choir, a space that values so many men and women who take the talents of Pará to so many places in the world. I want to ask for a round of applause for our dear founder who is now a treasure of this State.”

The tribute also included the presence of the superintendent of the Carlos Gomes Foundation, Gabriel Titan. For conductor Maria Antonia Jimenez, the moment is one of gratitude. “Thank you, truly, thank you. For me, it is very special to reach 30 years of this work, which started without pretensions. I just wanted the conservatory to have a choir to call its own. I intended it to be 2 years, and it has been 30, and here we are,” she expressed her gratitude.

The repertoire of the Lyric Gala included Brazilian operas and the work of Ludwig van Beethoven, Mass in C Major, Op. 86, composed in 1807.

The action is from the Government of Pará, through the State Secretary of Culture (Secult), Theatro da Paz, and the Paraense Academy of Music (APM) and is part of the XXIV Opera Festival of Theatro da Paz.
