State Government delivers solar power generation plant to Adepará
The unit has 2,224 panels for clean energy for all units of the Agency, which prevents the emission of 740 tons of carbon dioxide/year

The photovoltaic plant for the Agricultural Defense Agency of Pará (Adepará), in Santa Izabel do Pará, in the metropolitan region of Belém, was delivered by the vice-governor of Pará, Hana Ghassan, this Tuesday (24). The unit is already operational, generating clean and sustainable energy.

The initiative combines social responsibility with environmental preservation, seeking solutions using technology as a source of clean, renewable, and economical energy for public administration. The 9,500m2 land has 2,224 solar panels with an estimated capacity to supply more than 7,000 households, generating 1,404,000 kilowatt-hours of energy per year and ensuring a savings of R$65,910.00 per month on the Agency's electricity bill.

The investment is R$ 8.2 million, ensuring a concrete example of cleaner energy for Pará. “This plant will directly supply all Adepará buildings, thus reducing Adepará's electricity bill, leaving more resources to be invested in very important things for agriculture, for the daily life of the population,” said the vice-governor, Hana Ghassan.

Focusing on sustainability, Adepará's solar power generation plant will ensure the supply of 167 units throughout the Pará territory. “We have a State Government that is extremely present, with works throughout Pará. We have a thriving agricultural State of Pará, a reference in cattle and palm oil production. Here, in Santa Izabel, there is a strong poultry hub. The solar plant comes to restructure the Defense Agency,” explained the general director of Adepará, Jamir Macedo.

Technology and reduction of pollutant gas emissions
Created 22 years ago, Adepará has invested in technology and infrastructure in recent years. 95 cars, 50 motorcycles, and 16 speedboats have been acquired, enhancing the capacity to better serve rural producers in 20 regions, ensuring agricultural defense with 14 inspection posts.
In addition to generating electricity to supply the units, it will also operate a charger for electric cars, one at the plant and five chargers at Adepará's headquarters in the Pedreira neighborhood in Belém.

“We are in a COP year and we have to think about the environment, think about clean energy, and from there we look at the economic aspect. The implementation of this photovoltaic plant will bring more resources for administration and we will be able to invest in other areas of Adepará,” commented the administrative and financial director of Adepará, Raimundo Belo.
Solar energy is an incentive for the use of alternative energy sources in public agencies, reaffirming Pará's role as a protagonist in environmental agendas and in facing climate change. It prevents carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions that would occur if this energy were generated from fossil sources. With the plant, it avoids the release of 62 tons of greenhouse gases per month and 744 tons per year.
