The Government of Pará, through the State Public Security and Social Defense System, will launch, next Saturday (28), the Summer Operation 2025, with the reinforcement of about 9.2 thousand agents for integrated, ostensive, and preventive actions that will be developed in 50 locations across the State.

The actions will be coordinated by the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), in conjunction with the agencies of the State Public Security System (Sieds), and partnerships with municipal and federal agencies. The operation will continue until August 4 to ensure a peaceful and safe leisure time for the people of Pará and tourists.

In addition to the personnel that will reinforce actions alongside local teams, more than 350 vehicles will also be present on the streets, including four-wheeled vehicles, motorcycles, removal vehicles, buses, minibuses, and rescue ambulances. The Mounted Police Regiment (RPMont) of the Pará Military Police will be present with 62 mounted police officers, assisting in patrols and preventive actions on beaches and resorts.

Ualame Machado, head of Segup, highlights the Summer Operation 2025. “This Summer Operation will have more than four weekends because, normally, the month has four weekends. Since it starts on June 28 and ends on August 4, we will have more weekends than in previous operations, and all of this is taken into account regarding policing and personnel. We guarantee that there will be reinforced policing as we had in all other years, and certainly, we will have an even better summer than last year.”

Aerial and River Actions

The Air Security Group (Graesp) will operate with two aircraft conducting overflights in the Salgado Region and the Metropolitan Region of Belém, ensuring aerial monitoring and support for agents on the ground. Graesp is also capable of rescue actions alongside the Fire Department on the beaches.

The River Group (GFLu), along with the Sieds agencies that use vessels for patrolling, will utilize more than 80 boats distributed throughout Pará, reinforcing actions in the river network this Amazon summer.

The GFLu agents will work alongside civil and military police officers, with the support of the Brazilian Navy, in patrolling actions on the Islands of the Metropolitan Region of Belém. The focus is to ensure the safety of those who frequent these locations. According to Segup, a GFLu vessel will be anchored on the Guamá River near the Princesa Isabel square, in the Condor neighborhood of Belém. The location will serve as a focal point for security agencies to align actions and provide quick responses in case of calls from the Integrated Operations Center (CIOp). A police station will also operate there to expedite cases of occurrences.

Integrated Command and Control Center (CICC)

During the operation, the municipality of Salinópolis and the district of Mosqueiro will receive the Integrated Command and Control Center, which brings together and integrates security forces, allowing for quicker decision-making and alignment of actions. The Center will also monitor in real-time through security cameras installed in the locations, as well as record occurrences of lower offensive potential.

In Salinópolis, the CICC will be installed at Atalaia Beach, next to Sofia's shortcut; and in the district of Mosqueiro, the mobile CICC will be installed at the beginning of Av. 16 de Novembro with Av. Beira Mar.

Inspection on the Roads

From the last weekend of July until the first of August, inspections will be intensified at the entrance and exit of the capital of Pará, Belém. The same service will be carried out on the roads and streets in the locations to assist in traffic flow and curb possible traffic violations.

Agents from the State Department of Transit (Detran), along with agents from Municipal Guards and municipal traffic agencies, alongside the Federal Highway Police, will work together to ensure greater safety for vehicle drivers and pedestrians on state roads.

Agents from the Civil, Military Police, and Detran will carry out prevention, inspection, and traffic guidance actions on the roads of beaches and resorts, within the “Dry Law” operation. The objective is to prevent traffic accidents and the driving of vehicles under the influence of alcohol.

The Military Fire Department and Civil Defense will provide guidance, through lifeguards, regarding tide tables and warnings on the beaches and resorts of the state, pre-hospital care, in addition to being present on state roads with rescue and salvage teams in case of accidents.

Guidance and Inspection Actions

Through “Zero Tolerance,” security forces will conduct inspections in bars, restaurants, and concert houses to guide the staff of establishments regarding the protocols required for their operation, especially to prevent criminal actions, the presence of children and adolescents at inappropriate times, thus maintaining public order in these places.

The agents will also act in raising awareness among the population regarding the prohibition of using lines with cerol. As well as the prohibition of glass bottles on beaches, resorts, and igarapés in the state. And also in environmental protection areas, such as the Atalaia Natural Monument in Salinópolis. The actions aim to prevent accidents and preserve the environment.

Prevention actions will also be carried out by the Public Policy and Social Prevention Directorate of Segup, in partnership with state and municipal agencies. The goal is to raise awareness and prevent crimes against women, children, and adolescents, such as sexual harassment, disturbance of the peace, and the use of lines with cerol.

Metropolitan Region of Belém (RMB) - For those staying in the RMB, the security system also ensures reinforcement during the summer period. There will be continuous patrols and policing at strategic points including areas with resorts; in addition to the reinforcement of personnel in the Civil Police Stations to assist the population and register occurrences, if necessary.

The operation will be integrated by Segup servers, Military, Civil, and Scientific Police, Military Fire Department, Detran, Seap, as well as state agencies such as Artran, Adepará, Ideflor-Bio, and also Municipal Guards, municipal and federal security and traffic agencies, and the Port Authority.
