Seduc holds the D-Day for registering environmental education projects from MEC this Friday (27)
The action mobilizes and encourages public schools to register to participate in the Direct Money to School Program (PDDE) Sustainable Schools
This Friday (27), the State Department of Education (Seduc) will promote the D-Day for registering environmental education projects through the Ministry of Education (MEC) website. The action mobilizes and encourages public schools to register to participate in the Direct Money to School Program (PDDE) Sustainable Schools, an initiative that allocates financial resources directly to educational institutions for the development of actions aimed at sustainability. The MEC initiative complements Seduc's efforts, which has been allocating resources since 2023 through the Environmental Education subprogram of the Pará School Money Program (Prodep), which sends resources for state schools to invest in environmental education actions.
The registration is a fundamental step for schools to receive this additional investment for improving the quality of education and to support them in strengthening socio-environmental sustainability criteria, considering the curriculum, management, and physical space, enhancing sustainable educational spaces.
Seduc emphasizes the importance of schools' adherence to the program, highlighting that the initiative contributes not only to improving infrastructure and the school environment but also to the civic formation of students, aligning the school curriculum with sustainable and responsible practices towards the environment.
“This action reinforces the engagement of schools, driven both by the proximity of COP and by the implementation of Environmental Education in the curriculum. We urge schools that have not yet conducted or registered their conferences, projects, and proposals to do so urgently. Registration is a necessary condition for future participation in the PDDE Sustainable Schools initiative, which encourages the development of environmental practices in the school environment. We count on everyone's participation in this movement,” emphasizes Mauro Tavares, coordinator of Environmental Education at Seduc.
Live - The Department of Education will hold a live session to guide education networks on adhering to the platform related to the Direct Money to School Program (PDDE) Sustainable Schools. The meeting will take place at 9 am and will be broadcast on Seduc's YouTube channel.
