The Government of Pará delivered, this Thursday (26), two new structures for the Military Police in the municipality of Altamira, on the banks of the BR-230 (Transamazon Highway), in the Xingu Integration Region. The units strengthen the presence of public security in a strategic area of the State, ensuring better working conditions for the military and greater protection for the population.

The deliveries include the new headquarters of the 4th Independent Company of Special Missions (Cime) and the 52nd Battalion of Military Police (BPM), which will operate with more adequate facilities, expanding the performance of ostensive and specialized policing in western Pará.

The 4th Cime, linked to the Command of Special Missions (CME), received an investment of R$ 1,949,593.05. The unit operates in high-complexity operations, such as combating organized crime, tactical rescue, and special actions throughout the Xingu Integration Region.

The new space of the 52nd BPM, linked to the Regional Policing Command VIII (CPR VIII), will also operate in a leased headquarters, with a structure suitable for serving the population, planning actions, and police operations in the region.

Presence in the field - With the official creation of the 52nd BPM, the implementation of the Rural Battalion in Altamira was also announced, a strategy that has been successful in other regions of the State. The initiative aims to pacify rural areas, prevent conflicts in the field, and combat crimes such as drug trafficking.

“From now on, it will be up to the commander and the troops to register all the rural units in the region, which will have identifying signs at their main gates, as a way to demonstrate that they are monitored by public security,” emphasized Governor Helder Barbalho, highlighting that “we have a trained and qualified troop, with the necessary equipment for this. It is very relevant because this action decentralizes and brings the Command of Special Missions closer to Altamira.”

The general commander of the Military Police of Pará, Colonel Dilson Júnior, also attended the delivery and reinforced the corporation's commitment to qualified presence in all regions. “We are advancing responsibly and strategically. These deliveries show the continuous effort of the Government and the corporation to ensure that the military police have the structure and support to act with excellence, especially in strategic regions like the Transamazon Highway. More than buildings, we are delivering presence, efficiency, and security for the people of Pará,” stated Colonel Dilson Júnior.

Commander of Special Missions, Colonel Giorgio Mariúba

Advancement - For the commander of the Command of Special Missions, Colonel Giorgio Cristiano Mariúba, the new standard of the interior units represents a leap in the structure of state public security. “With the creation of the Cime in Altamira, we made a significant advancement. The troops now have a standard unit, like those in the capital, with physical structure, internet, equipment, vehicles, and armament. This represents dignity for the military and more capacity to respond to society,” highlighted the commander.

Colonel Sandro Wagner, Director of Logistical Support

Colonel Sandro Wagner de Andrade do Carmo, Director of Logistical Support of the PM, also highlighted the importance of the new headquarters. “This unit is strategic for the corporation. Previously, the personnel operated in an improvised space within the 16th BPM, with inadequate structure. Now, with the support of the state government, a dignified space has been built, with administrative offices, commands, and subcommands, fully prepared to serve the troops and the population more efficiently,” explained the director.

The new facilities reaffirm the Executive's commitment to valuing the troops, modernizing police structures, and strengthening the presence of the State in the most challenging regions of Pará.

Renewed fleet is among the state's investments in the security of the population

Other state investments to reinforce security in Altamira:

- Delivery of 43 new vehicles (Hilux and Duster models), renewing the entire PM fleet in the municipality, and five motorcycles for patrolling and inspection actions;

- Installation of eight public security totems, with integrated monitoring;

- Installation of video monitoring cameras to support operational actions;

- Delivery of 51 ballistic vests to the Municipal Traffic Guard, with integrated action with the PM, and 15 HT radios for quick communication between security agents;

- Integrated Operations Center (NIOp) for joint coordination of security forces, and

- New headquarters of the Policing Command in Castelo de Sonhos, district of Altamira.

Construction of the Integrated Command and Control Regional Center (CICCR) is underway, which will allow greater efficiency in monitoring and rapid and effective response to occurrences.
