In Brasília, security managers from Pará participate in the 1st National Public Safety Conference
Managers of the State Public Safety System of Pará are among more than 130 authorities discussing strategies for integration and strengthening of security in the country

The 1st National Public Safety Conference, held in Brasília, brought together representatives from the 26 states and the Federal District on Wednesday (3) to promote the exchange of experiences, dissemination of best practices, and strengthening of integrated action among security forces across the country. Pará is represented by the main managers of the state system, who present proposals and share strategies adopted in combating crime.

During the event, the head of the Public Safety and Social Defense Secretariat of Pará (Segup), Ualame Machado, participated in meetings of the National Council of Secretaries of Public Safety (Consesp), where a package with nine legislative proposals was discussed to be forwarded to the National Congress. The measures include topics such as immediate blocking of transactions via Pix, creation of specific criminal types for crimes committed by factions, tightening of penalty progression, combating "gatonet," and stricter measures against actions known as "novo cangaço."
"Being present at this event is essential to share challenges and experiences. The construction of proposals needs to come from those who live public safety on a daily basis. In Pará, we have made progress with effective measures, and being able to contribute to the national debate is an important step for strengthening the area across the country," emphasized Ualame Machado.
Integration as a path - In addition to legislative proposals, the conference addresses topics such as the Public Safety PEC, the challenges of combating organized crime, the role of intelligence agencies, the use of resources from the National Public Safety Fund, and strategies to enhance integration among the corporations.

The commander of the Military Police of Pará, Colonel Dilson Júnior, emphasized the importance of alignment among state forces. "Participating in this national articulation strengthens the commitment to an efficient and integrated action. The exchange of experiences allows us to identify best practices and adjust them to the reality of each state," he assessed.
In the same vein, the general delegate of the Civil Police of Pará, Walter Resende Benassuly, reinforced the importance of coordinated action. "Crime does not respect borders or institutions, and therefore our response needs to be strategic and unified. The integration among the forces in Pará is a practical example that joint work generates results: increased crime resolution, reduced violence, and public trust," he stated.
Parallel meetings - During the program, meetings of the main councils of the security forces also took place, including the general commands of the Military Police (CNCGPM), Civil Police (CONCPC), Fire Departments (LIGABOM), Scientific Police (CONDPC), and Secretariats of Penitentiary Administration (CONSEJ). All segments had active participation from the managers of Pará.

The event, which is also part of the iLab-Security 2025 calendar, has established itself as a national forum for articulation among governments, police forces, specialists, and representatives from the private sector focused on innovation, technology, and public policies in the area of security.
