The State Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration (SEAP), through the Social Assistance Coordination (CAS), carried out another activity of the "Pré-Egressa" methodology at the Women's Custody and Reintegration Unit of Ananindeua (UCRF), in the Metropolitan Region of Belém. The action is aimed at women deprived of liberty in semi-open regime, focusing on preparation for life in freedom.

Currently, 16 women participate in the methodology, which offers continuous support during the transition process for social reintegration. In this edition, the workshop had the theme "Strengthening emotions, building paths: developing socio-emotional skills for life and freedom," led by a psychologist from the State Secretariat of Education (Seduc).

The proposal sought to strengthen the socio-emotional competencies of the participants, offering tools for facing challenges and reconstructing trajectories. Through dynamics and moments of active listening, the workshop stimulated reflection on feelings, attitudes, and choices, promoting an environment of welcome and collective knowledge building.

The director of UCRF, Dorotea Soares Lima, highlighted the importance of recognizing the individuality of the women served by the methodology. "A fundamental aspect of the proposal is to promote the recognition of the subjectivity of the pre-egress women and the re-signification of their stories. We do this through workshops and discussion circles, focusing on Restorative Justice, favoring listening, dialogue, self-reflection, and strengthening ties with society," she explained.

In addition to emotional support, the initiative also offers practical guidance on accessing essential services such as housing, health, education, and employment. "The project contributes to these women rebuilding their lives with dignity and security," the director added.

The action reinforces SEAP's commitment to comprehensive care and the appreciation of women's autonomy in the process of regaining freedom. The "Pré-Egressa" methodology is part of a set of public policies aimed at reducing criminal recidivism, promoting citizenship, and breaking the cycle of social exclusion through more humane, inclusive, and restorative practices.
