During Expocatólica 2025, which ends this Sunday (06) at the Pro Magno Centro de Eventos in São Paulo (SP), Pará not only showcased its religious tourism attractions but also promoted experiences and training actions aimed at travel agents and tour operators. The program included specialized training and an exciting mini procession of the Círio de Nazaré, bringing the faith and culture of Pará to the fair pavilion.

On Friday (04), the technical team from the State Secretariat of Tourism (Setur) conducted training aimed at the tourism trade, with the goal of presenting the main religious itineraries of Pará, clarifying logistical doubts, and expanding professionals' knowledge about the expressions of faith that are part of the Pará calendar. The training was also strategic for strengthening ties with companies in the sector and promoting packages already available on the shelves of agencies.

The action was well received by agents and operators seeking new destinations to diversify their offerings to the public. The Círio de Nazaré, the Marujada of Bragança, and the Sairé of Alter do Chão were the main highlights of the presentation, valuing not only popular faith but also the symbolic and cultural richness of the State.

One of the agents present at the fair, Gabriel Solon from Família Solon Viagens, reported the impact of the experience on strengthening his packages to Belém. “Participating in Expocatólica greatly enriched our knowledge, especially regarding accommodations, itinerary options, and logistics. We were at Recírio in 2024 with a small group, but after what we experienced here, we will return this year with a larger caravan to experience the complete Círio de Nazaré. The public from the Northeast has been seeking Pará a lot, and the way the State presented itself at the fair gave us even more confidence to expand our operations in this destination.”

On Saturday (05), Setur promoted a mini procession of the pilgrim image of Our Lady of Nazaré through the fair's walkways, symbolically recreating one of the most emblematic moments of the largest Catholic manifestation in Brazil. The initiative moved the audience present, who followed the procession with prayers, songs, and demonstrations of devotion.

“The moment of the procession is always highly anticipated. When people see the image of the Saint, many become emotional. Priests from various regions of the country have already approached us here at the booth to express their desire to know the Círio and bring groups of faithful. It is gratifying to see the recognition and interest in the expressions of faith from Pará,” said Setur's tourism expert, Carlos Figueira.

In addition to the procession, Setur's booth offered the public an immersion in Pará's religious culture, showcasing typical costumes from the Marujada, begging saints, miriti toys, and tasting regional flavors such as tucupi with jambu, tapioca rolls with cupuaçu jelly, and Brazil nut chocolates.
