Inspectors check if tourism service providers have the proper documentation and comply with the environmental regulations of the UC

An inspection action was carried out on Friday (11) with the operators of tourist services operating in the Conservation Unit (UC) Atalaia Natural Monument, in Salinópolis, northeastern Pará. The activity was conducted by the technical team of the Pará Institute of Forest Development and Biodiversity (Ideflor-Bio), in partnership with the Environmental Police Battalion (BPA) and the Inspection Department of the Pará Military Fire Brigade (CBM).

The initiative aimed to verify compliance with the environmental and safety regulations required for the operation of tourist activities in conservation areas, located between the dunes and the Coca-Cola lake. The inspection aims to ensure that the services offered are in accordance with the legislation, promoting a balanced relationship between public use and environmental preservation.

During the action, the teams inspected physical structures, safety conditions, mandatory documentation, and environmental licenses. They also provided guidance on good conservation practices, proper management, and the importance of regularization with the competent authorities.

Cooperation - According to the director of Management and Monitoring of Conservation Units at Ideflor-Bio, Ellivelton Carvalho, the integrated action among the agencies is essential for strengthening sustainable tourism in the region. “This integrated inspection is essential to ensure that tourism in these areas occurs in a responsible, safe, and sustainable manner, guaranteeing the preservation of natural heritage and the integrity of the people who visit the Atalaia Natural Monument,” he stated.

It is worth remembering that the Atalaia Natural Monument, created in 2018, is a Conservation Unit of Integral Protection on the Pará coast, focusing on the preservation of natural attributes and encouraging controlled public use for educational, scientific, and recreational purposes. In this sense, inspection is a strategic tool to ensure that tourism occurs in an orderly and respectful manner towards the environment.
