Government of Pará delivers new municipal hospital in Itupiranga
The new unit, expanded and modernized, is expected to benefit more than 51,000 residents of the municipality

On this Monday (14), the Government of Pará delivered the new Municipal Hospital of Itupiranga, in the southeast of the State, benefiting more than 51,000 residents and reinforcing the public health structure of the Tucuruí Lake integration region.
The unit was rebuilt and expanded through an agreement between the State Department of Public Health (Sespa) and the municipality of Itupiranga, funded with 90% of state resources amounting to R$7,396,485.45. The new hospital continues to provide 100% SUS care with a focus on comprehensive and multidisciplinary care, especially aimed at women's and children's health, as well as performing elective surgeries.

The delivery was made by Governor Helder Barbalho amid the official programming of the 77th anniversary of Itupiranga.
"It is very good to provide conditions for the population to be attended to closer to their homes through a modern, equipped hospital with all possible comfort. It is an important chapter in the history of the municipality," reported the governor.

The hospital complex has 5 sectors: technical support block, logistics and morgue; inpatient ward; surgical center; diagnostic support and outpatient care.
53 beds were installed, including 4 wards with 4 beds each and 1 isolation room, in addition to two stabilization beds in the emergency sector. The Surgical Center consists of 02 operating rooms and 3 post-anesthesia recovery beds. The Normal Delivery Center has three pre-delivery, delivery, and post-delivery rooms.

In addition to the outpatient wing consisting of three offices, the population will also have access to examination services such as electrocardiogram, ultrasound, endoscopy, X-ray, and a laboratory with two collection boxes and a collection room with a stretcher.
"The expansion of the Itupiranga Hospital reflects our commitment to supporting local health. It is also an entrepreneurial vision of Governor Helder so that we have care for the people of all municipalities in this State," highlighted the State Secretary of Health, Ivete Vaz.

During the delivery of the hospital, the population was able to closely see the new facilities. Nursing technician Deusemê Silva praised the new infrastructure. "Before, this hospital was not even sufficiently air-conditioned. Now everything is fine, everything is clean and even more airy," she said, expressing hope to work there, as she is currently unemployed.
Housekeeper Ana Carolina Costa remembers the precariousness of the old hospital. "My mother, when she needed to be hospitalized here, we had to bring even a fan. Now I am impressed with this renovation and with the hope of continuing my hernia treatment right here," she said.
The hospital's hygiene coordinator, Mayara Milhomen, has worked there for five years and celebrates the renovation after so many difficulties in the routine due to the precariousness of the old facilities. "There were problems of all kinds, and I am very grateful to Governor Helder Barbalho for the benefit provided to the population. I give a score of 10 for this renovation," she reported.
Edineth Felix, a general services assistant, recalls that she had to go to Marabá several times in search of more specialized care, as the old municipal hospital did not offer adequate conditions. "From what I see, this is going to change and for the better."
Present at the delivery of the new hospital, the administrative and financial director of Sespa, Marciana Andrade, highlighted that all 144 municipalities in Pará have received some type of support from the state government and, through the Health Department, this has been no different. "In health assistance, the integrated work between the State and the municipalities reinforces the commitment to provide quality health care for all residents of Pará," she said.

The mayor of Itupiranga, Wagno Godoy, recalls that the population of the municipality waited 30 years for the hospital's renovation. "I must say that the city is in celebration, as the state government has given the municipality the lead role in caring for the population and strengthening the public health system," he said.
The delivery of the new Municipal Hospital of Itupiranga is part of a series of investments by the Government of Pará in support of municipal administrations with a more sensitive approach to health. Since 2019, the Government of Pará has delivered 20 health units in various regions of the State, strengthening the public network with modern infrastructure and quality care.

Currently, at least 30 works in municipal units are underway. Each new delivery represents a concrete advance in guaranteeing the right to health, with specialized services closer to the population.
