Ideflor-Bio opens selection of volunteers for work at the Utinga State Park
According to the announcement published in the Official State Gazette, registrations will open on Wednesday (16), exclusively through the Ideflor-Bio website.
The Institute for Forest Development and Biodiversity of Pará (Ideflor-Bio) published on Monday (14), in the Official State Gazette (DOE), Announcement No. 001/2025, which initiates the selection process for the Volunteer Program in Conservation Units. The first call is directed to the Utinga Camillo Vianna State Park, in the capital of Pará. Registrations will open this Wednesday (16), exclusively through the Ideflor-Bio website.
With an emphasis on the thematic line of Environmental Education and Public Use, the initiative aims to engage students and professionals from the fields of Pedagogy, Biology, Tourism, Natural Sciences, and related areas, in promoting educational activities aimed at biodiversity conservation. The selected volunteers will assist visitors, mainly public school students, contributing to environmental awareness within the Conservation Unit (UC).

According to the announcement, 20 volunteer positions will be offered, with a duration of one year, from August 18, 2025, to August 18, 2026. The activity schedule will be adapted according to the availability of participants, with the possibility of working in the morning or afternoon shifts, from Monday to Friday. Volunteers will receive training and, at the end of the service period, a participation certificate issued by the Institute.
Protagonism - "Conservation Units are public assets and need the active participation of society to be fully valued and protected. With volunteering, we create a bridge between environmental management and the citizen, stimulating social protagonism in the conservation of the Amazon," said the president of Ideflor-Bio, Nilson Pinto.

Among the prerequisites for registration are basic knowledge of ecosystems, biodiversity, sustainability, environmental impacts, and environmental legislation. These skills can be proven through course certificates, previous experiences, academic training, or participation in related projects.
Learning - Júlio Meyer, manager of the Administrative Region of Belém at Ideflor-Bio, explained that volunteering goes beyond collaborating with environmental conservation. "It is a formative experience that brings the citizen closer to the reality of the UCs and strengthens the sense of belonging to Utinga Park. We hope to receive committed individuals willing to act as multipliers of environmental knowledge," said the manager.
The selection process will be based on curriculum analysis, respecting objective criteria such as academic training, previous experience, participation in courses, conferences, and environmental projects. The maximum score will be 70 points. The list of selected candidates will be published on the Ideflor-Bio website on August 11.
Interested parties must fill out a registration form and attach documents, such as a student enrollment declaration, completion certificate, or diploma, as applicable. It is also necessary to fill out and sign the adhesion terms, medical form, and risk acknowledgment term, as well as present copies of the ID and CPF.

Importance of the UC - The Utinga Camillo Vianna State Park is one of the main urban UCs in Brazil, with rich biodiversity and an important role in climate regulation and water supply for the Metropolitan Region of Belém. With the implementation of the Volunteer Program, Ideflor-Bio reinforces its commitment to environmental education and the appreciation of civil society as an agent of transformation.
