Sefa seizes more than 27 tons of cassava flour in Cachoeira do Piriá
The goods were retained upon the realization that there was an intention to evade the tax authorities, without the payment of the tax due to the state treasury
State tax auditors from the State Department of Finance (Sefa), from the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Gurupi, located in the municipality of Cachoeira do Piriá, northeast of Pará, on the border with Maranhão, seized 27.5 tons of cassava flour from a truck coming from Marcolândia (PI), destined for Belém (PA), this Wednesday (16).

"After the start of the inspection and delivery of the invoice, the officials verified that the goods were being sent to an individual taxpayer without state registration. Given the quantity of the cargo, the commercial intent and the attempt to evade the tax authorities by not paying the due state tax is undeniable,” informed the coordinator of the tax unit, Gustavo Bozola.
In light of the facts, the goods, valued at R$ 110,627.58, were retained, and the Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was drawn up, in the amount of R$ 29,400.34, referring to the tax and the fine.
