In Salinópolis, Fire Department and Graesp rescue fisherman at sea
The victim suffered an accident on his vessel and was 20 nautical miles from the coastal area. He was taken to the Regional Hospital and is recovering.

The Military Fire Department and the Public Security Air Group (Graesp) rescued a seriously injured fisherman 20 nautical miles off the coast of Salinópolis, northeastern Pará, on Friday (18). The victim was taken to the Regional Hospital of Salinópolis and is recovering.
The operation began when the Integrated Command and Control Center (CICC), located in Salinas, received an emergency call reporting that a fisherman was seriously injured, with a suspected fracture in one of his arms and a deep cut on his head, after suffering an accident with the fishing net lifting system inside the vessel.
Immediately, the Military Fire Department, through the 13th Group of Salinópolis, and Graesp, which operates in the Summer Operation, began the rescue mission at sea. Nine agents participated in the action, in the helicopter and in a flexboat.

Preparation - The commander of the 13th GBM, Major Rodrigo Vale, stated that the rescue was successful due to the prior preparation of the teams for acting in this type of occurrence. "Training, courage, and preparation come together in a complex operation, where every second can define the fate of a life,” he emphasized.
According to the major, the rescue operation followed all safety protocols, which ensured the efficiency of the mission. “Our operation occurred in three distinct moments: attempt of maritime communication with the vessel, reconnaissance flight, and rescue of the victim,” he informed.

The tide conditions also favored the approach of the vessel to the city. The victim was taken to the beach in the Fire Department's flexboat, and from there, he was transported by Graesp's aircraft to the corporation's headquarters, and then to the Regional Hospital.
The commander of the aircraft, Colonel PM George Auad, highlighted the role of integrated work in the successful rescue. “The operation involved the use of an aircraft equipped for rescue in liquid environments. The action reinforces the importance of integration between security and rescue forces to preserve lives in extreme risk situations,” he added.
