The second phase of Operation Final Template was launched on the morning of this Sunday (20) to repress a criminal association specialized in defrauding public competitions. The action of the investigated occurred during the exams of a public competition in Marituba, in the Metropolitan Region of Belém. Five men were caught in the act for fraud in a public competition and criminal association.

The investigation, conducted by the Fraud and Other Frauds Police Station (Deof) and the Regional Superintendence of Baixo Tocantins, found that the same group, also responsible for the attempted fraud in a state competition in March of this year, would act again in the competition in Marituba.

“The criminals' practice consists of using teachers who solve the exams and pass the answers, through tiny electronic devices, to the candidates for the position. During the investigative survey, it was possible to ascertain that the group charged R$ 2,000.00 and, if the candidate was approved, would pay an additional amount of R$ 20,000.00,” informed delegate Joubert da Silva from Deof.

All those involved were arrested at exam locations in the cities of Belém and Marituba, carrying small cell phones. One of the investigated, upon noticing the presence of undercover civil police disguised as examiners, ran to the bathroom, where he threw his cell phone into the toilet and flushed it, in an attempt to get rid of the evidence.

Transfer - “We operated covertly in more than ten exam locations, and we had the participation of 60 civil police officers divided into teams. All those arrested were taken and presented at the Division of Investigation and Special Operations (Dioe), where the records of the arrests in the act were drawn up. They are already in the process of being transferred to the State Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration (Seap),” said delegate Mhoab Khayan, head of the Regional Superintendence of Baixo Tocantins.

The second phase of Operation Final Template also involved police from Dioe, the police stations of Abaetetuba, Vila dos Cabanos (Barcarena), Acará, Moju, and Igarapé-Miri, along with the Investigation Support Nucleus (NAI) of Abaetetuba and the Homicide Police Station of Abaetetuba.
