Sefa seizes computer products valued at over R$ 35 thousand in northeastern Pará
Inspection carried out at the Cachoeira do Piriá post identified irregularities in a shipment destined for cities in Pará

Inspectors from the State Department of Finance (Sefa) seized, on July 25, a shipment of computer products valued at R$ 35,363.00 during an inspection action at the Goods in Transit Control unit in Gurupi, located in Cachoeira do Piriá, northeastern Pará, on the border with Maranhão.
The approach occurred during an inspection of a box truck, which presented invoices originating from Erechim (RS) and destined for several cities in Pará, such as Marabá, Altamira, Rurópolis, and Belém. According to the coordinator of the Sefa unit, Gustavo Bozola, the route used was not compatible with the expected logistics for this type of operation, which prompted a detailed verification of the documentation and the cargo.

“The invoices indicated that it was a shipment for demonstration, but the recipients were individuals, that is, final consumers who are not ICMS taxpayers. This raised suspicion of an attempt at tax evasion,” explained Bozola.
During the physical inspection of the cargo, 15 notebooks, seven tablets, six computers, five multifunction printers, five speakers, and five projectors were found. Upon contacting the sender, the inspection team was informed that the products had been sold, which contradicted the declared nature of the operation.
Once the irregularity was confirmed, the cargo was seized, and the Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was drawn up in the amount of R$ 10,539.87, referring to the collection of the due tax and fine. The amount was paid immediately, and the goods were released.
This action is part of Sefa's strategies to curb tax evasion and ensure the collection of resources that are reinvested in investments and services for the population of Pará.
