Mosqueiro District experiences intense activity on the last weekend of July

On this last Sunday of July (27), the Mosqueiro District recorded an intense flow of summer visitors and picnics to enjoy the beaches of one of the most sought-after locations by residents during school vacations and the Amazon summer. The "Summer 2025" operation continues to ensure safety and order until August 4 in over 50 locations.

To integrate forces and contribute to addressing demands, the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup) installed the Mobile Integrated Command and Control Center (CICCM) in the district. The population has been relying on the center for guidance and reporting incidents.

The head of Segup, Ualame Machado, emphasizes that the work of the forces will be intensified due to it being the last weekend of July to maintain security.

"Our teams – Military Police, Civil Police, Fire Department, and Penal Police – are present at strategic points, such as beaches, resorts, squares, and areas of high movement, with the aim of preventing crimes, ensuring public order, and providing assistance to the population," he said.

He adds: "We reinforce our commitment to the safety of all citizens and visitors. We count on the collaboration of the population to report any suspicious activity and follow the authorities' guidance. Together, we will build a safe and pleasant weekend for everyone," he concluded.

Domestic worker Néia Botelho, who is always in Mosqueiro whenever she can, approved the guidance and the presence of the agencies. "Every year during vacations, on holidays, and Carnival, I am here. I come with my family to enjoy. It’s very good, everything is calm, and so far there have been no incidents. For those who are more family-oriented, the presence of the police is very important," she pointed out.

Mobile Integrated Center

The Mobile CICC is equipped with video monitoring and radio communication, and brings together forces from the Public Security and Social Defense System (Sieds). This is due to the large number of tourists for the cultural programming promoted in the District.

The Mobile Center receives incident reports, monitors images from cameras installed at strategic points along the electric trio corridor, which contributes to the agents' agility in addressing the population's demands.

From Friday (25) until 2 PM this Sunday (27), the center has recorded 15 incidents, including 12 for simple theft and 3 for robberies. Civil Police agents are on standby for incidents should the population need assistance.

Beaches and Resorts

Life guard teams from the Military Fire Department are also present on Mosqueiro Island providing guidance and quick emergency assistance on the sand. The agents assist parents and guardians to accompany children to the water, as well as provide guidance regarding tides and risks with marine animals.
