With the aim of boosting the innovation ecosystem in the North region of Brazil, the Science and Technology Park (PCT) Guamá develops the program "Impulso Amazônia", an acceleration journey aimed at startups and companies focused on sustainable solutions for the Amazon. The initiative offers technical-scientific support, specialized mentoring, and strategic connections to strengthen the innovative business environment in Pará.

For five months, participants benefit from a structured development path, which includes thematic workshops, monthly individual mentoring, and support from a multidisciplinary council with experts in areas such as fundraising, intellectual property, branding, finance, digital transformation, and sales.

One of the program's differentiators is the integration with the laboratories of PCT Guamá, which provide support for the development of products and services based on science and technology. The park's structure, recognized as a reference in the region, allows for the articulation between universities, the productive sector, and public policies aimed at sustainable development.

For João Weyl, president of the Guamá Foundation, the program represents a milestone for strengthening innovation with an Amazonian identity. “Generating movement, concentrating energy, and leveraging solutions that make sense for the Amazon, this is the essence of Impulso,” he emphasized.

The action has the partnership of the Secretary of Science, Technology and Higher, Professional and Technological Education (Sectet) through the Startup Pará program and reinforces initiatives already consolidated by the Government of Pará, such as the Centelha and Tecnova programs, which injected significant resources into technology-based projects in the state.

“Impulso Amazônia expands the possibilities for innovative companies that want to grow with social and environmental responsibility. It is another bridge between science, technology, and sustainable development, with PCT Guamá playing a strategic role in this process,” evaluated Deivison Barbosa, scientific director of the Amazon Foundation for Support to Studies and Research (Fapespa).

Excellence Infrastructure in the Amazon

The first technological park in the North region, PCT Guamá is an initiative of the Government of Pará, through Sectet, in partnership with the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), Federal Rural University of the Amazon (Ufra), and managed by the Guamá Foundation. The complex houses more than 30 resident companies, 40 associates, 12 research laboratories, and a technical school, consolidating itself as one of the most dynamic innovation hubs in the Amazon.

Located on the banks of the Guamá River, the Park occupies an area of 72 hectares between the campuses of partner universities and integrates national and international entities promoting innovation, such as Anprotec and Iasp.
