The Government of Pará, through the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company (Emater-Pará), held a drive on Wednesday (13) for issuing the National Family Agriculture Registration (CAF) and Rural Environmental Registration (CAR) for about fifty rural producers from the Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes Community in Belém.

The action was in conjunction with the Local Offices of Ananindeua and Belém and reinforces the state government's commitment to providing access to public policies for family farmers throughout Pará.

According to Camila Silva, a farmer and community leader, the registration carried out by the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company of Pará will provide access to public policies, with projects assisted by Emater for the utilization of açaí, as well as the harvesting and sale of fruits for markets in Belém and the Metropolitan Region.

“We have a project to create an association made up solely of women, and we want to bring benefits to our community, seeking what the community needs, with projects focused on regional cuisine produced with açaí. We can utilize the fruit in other ways, and Emater will be able to help us with these projects,” she stated.

According to her, the starting point for any assistance that helps promote and improve the production of the fruit for farmers is directly related to Emater. The leader emphasized some of the projects that should boost tourism in the region and generate jobs and income for residents.

“Emater provides us access to many public policies that we didn't even know we were entitled to. Today's drive was a great mobilization within our community and will help us improve our productions and with other projects, as well as improve our economies. We live in a strategic location, connected by river to the municipalities of Marituba, Ananindeua, Belém, and this greatly facilitates our entry and exit routes, as well as attracts tourists. We want to work focused on tourism as well. Everything for the benefit of our community, with jobs and income for us,” the leader emphasized.

About twelve technicians from the two local offices participated in the registration of the producers, offering assistance and information, clarifying doubts, and collecting data for the issuance of documentation, all for free.

“All services are completely free, provided by the Government of Pará. From visits to properties, document preparation, project development, among other services offered by Emater. This drive is the result of an action aimed at rural farmers around Avenida Liberdade. We have been working with them in this region for about three years, bringing assistance and technical support to producers. The goal now is to increase the production of CAF, so that it intensifies its production, especially with açaí and cocoa, through rural credit,” explained the regional supervisor of the Islands, Renato Barata.
