In the early morning of this Tuesday (19), teams from the Specialized Police Station for the Care of Children and Adolescents (DEACA), located in the building adjacent to the Santa Casa da Misericórdia Hospital, executed two search and seizure warrants at the homes of two men investigated for child sexual exploitation and sexual harassment. The Forensic Police of Pará participated in the operation, assisting with the forensic examinations at the locations, which allowed for the arrest of one of the suspects in the act.

“These warrants aimed to investigate cyber crimes against children and adolescents. The investigation into the case that led to the arrest began when the grandmother of a 15-year-old teenager went to DEACA reporting that her grandson was a victim of sexual exploitation. She became suspicious after noticing that the teenager was receiving expensive gifts and frequent pix payments,” reports the head of DEACA Santa Casa, delegate Danielle Ambrósio.

According to the delegate, upon starting the investigation, a conversation was found exchanged with the suspect, who instructed the teenager to delete all pornographic content videos in case he was discovered, and to say that they were just friends.

“In light of sufficient evidence of authorship and materiality of the crime of child sexual exploitation, we represented before the Justice for search and seizure at the residences of the subjects, which were granted by the Police Inquiry and Precautionary Measures Court of Belém. The PCEPA accompanied us during the execution of the warrants, and the forensic experts were able to verify that one of the men had a vast amount of child pornography material on his cell phone, in addition to message groups in apps where he shared this type of content,” explained Danielle Ambrósio.

Forensic examination - Forensic experts from the PCEPA's IT department accompanied the operation with the aim of conducting initial examinations that could configure the flagrant.

“The Forensic Police goes along with the Civil Police in order to make the flagrant. The importance of the forensic examination is precisely to detect this material on the electronic devices used by the suspects, to seize it, and to support the arrest made by the PC,” describes the data processing technologist and forensic expert of the Forensic Police, Natanael Neto.

The expert further explains that the seized material was collected and will undergo a second, more detailed examination at the PCEPA laboratory, where systems can catalog all the material found and also recover any content that has been deleted from the devices. This analysis also allows for the identification of other possible criminals within the same network as the suspect, who exchange this type of content and information. The complete report will be sent to the Civil Police to corroborate the investigation.
