During the 28th Pan-Amazonian Book Fair and Multivoices, entrepreneur Victor Rogério fulfilled a childhood dream: the passionate reader became an exhibitor. Twenty years ago, the bookseller first encountered the literary event on a school trip, and over the following editions, he strengthened his love for the literary world.

“Experiencing the Fair with our own bookstore's exhibition is a dream come true. In previous editions, I walked around the Fair, looked at the booths, and thought that one day it could be me there. And that day has come. The child Victor is very proud to be part of this event, which involves so much affection and is essential for the State,” celebrates Victor Rogério, who is a partner at Livraria Boiúna, recently opened in Belém.

By participating in each edition of the Book Fair and Multivoices, promoted by the Government of Pará through the State Department of Culture (Secult), visitors highlight the recovery of affective memories built over the periods of operation.

Iaci Gomes, writer and frequent participant of the Book Fair

Journalist and writer Iaci Gomes, a frequent participant of the Fair editions, was one of the guests this year to sign autographs at the Author's Point space, with the book 'Visagentas'. The books are part of the author's life and formation.

“I have been attending the Fair for over 15 years, and during this time, I have built wonderful memories of shopping, outings, and meetings. I was very moved by the Author's Point and reflecting that now, in addition to being a reader, people also read me. And some even recognize me! If the fair was special, now it is even more so. These are new and incredible memories that I add to the album that the Book Fair has in my history,” she celebrates.

The Pará artist Matheus Souza grew up attending the space, has been an illustrator for the visual identity of one of the editions, and participated in the Artist Alley space of the Fair. Fantasy, mystery, and adventure books sparked the artist's interest in the literary world during his adolescence.

“I still continue today in what has become not just a hobby, but, as I am an illustrator, I am part of the production of some books. I have illustrated two books. And I am always either buying or researching literature to understand not only more about the new stories but also how I can produce them. The Fair is magical, whether when we are children and participate in school visits, as an illustrator, or as a valued artist. It is a unique space,” he commented.

Marussa Camargo at the Book Fair in 2025

Professor Marussa Camargo shares that the construction of her relationship with books and the Fair even encouraged her choice of profession. Since she was young, she has loved the connection with books, the literary universe, and currently participates in the reading club 'Café com letras' in Parauapebas.

“One of the most remarkable moments for me was when I went for the first time to the Book Fair with my daughter. She was very curious, did makeup on her face, became interested in the books, it was a very good feeling. Physical books never go out of style, and we need to encourage interest, especially among children and teenagers,” she concludes.

Service – The 28th Pan-Amazonian Book Fair and Multivoices takes place from Saturday (16) until next Friday (22), from 9 am to 10 pm, with entry until 9 pm, at Hangar Convention and Fair, in Belém.
