Government of Pará and Santarém City Hall align actions to strengthen investments and expand opportunities
Online meeting addressed the Development Seminar, the Training Workshop, and the Investor's Guide, steps of the letter of intent signed between the State and the municipality to boost the local economy
The Pará Economic Development Company (Codec) and the Santarém City Hall held an online meeting on Thursday (21) to align the next steps of the joint work aimed at strengthening the local productive base and attracting investments. The meeting marked another step in the already established commitment, now moving into the practical phase, which includes the Economic Development Seminar, the Training Workshop, and the launch of the Investor's Guide, scheduled for the end of September.
During the meeting, the Director of Strategy and Institutional Relations of Codec (Deri), Pádua Rodrigues, emphasized that the planned actions reinforce Santarém's capacity to position itself as an investment destination. “The Investor's Guide will be a valuable tool to attract new enterprises and strengthen the municipality's image as a strategic hub in western Pará, while the workshop prepares teams to assist investors with organization and efficiency,” he stated.
The Municipal Secretary of Planning and Economic Development of Santarém, Michel Martins, noted that the next steps of the work will focus on conducting a training workshop on business and investment attraction and the launch of the Investor's Guide, a tool for strategic information to support projects and enterprises in the region, to transform actions into concrete results for the area. “We are looking forward to the practical phase. Having trained teams, consolidating the seminar, and launching the guide means creating real conditions to attract investments and reduce bottlenecks in serving entrepreneurs,” he highlighted.
Also present at the meeting, the Manager of Institutional Relations of Codec, Augusto César Anunciação, highlighted that all the work is being prepared to offer Santarém an increasingly structured and efficient service, capable of supporting the arrival of new investments and strengthening local productive initiatives.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of making the Guide accessible to international audiences, with translation into English. The initiative will be coordinated with the City Hall, ensuring appropriate material for printed delivery when necessary.
In addition to the Codec leaders and Secretary Michel Martins, the meeting was attended by representatives from the Santarém City Hall: Arimar Rêgo, Paulo Victor Carlin Felix, and Gabriella de Almeida Corrêa.
The end of September will be symbolic for the region. In addition to the agenda in Santarém, the neighboring municipality of Oriximiná will host the Economic Development Seminar on September 24, reinforcing Codec's strategy to value the Lower Amazon as a frontier of opportunities and attract investments in an integrated manner.
This work front is part of the Program for Strengthening the Pará Productive Segment, alongside the State's Multiannual Planning (PPA), seeking to maintain the presence of the State Government's structure in municipalities, in order to decentralize development, support local productive chains, and create a more competitive environment for the economy throughout the State.
