Emater-Pará signs technical cooperation with the municipality of Aveiro to boost cocoa farming
Partnership strengthens technical assistance in the southwest of the state and expands sustainable income-generating actions in the countryside

The Government of Pará, through the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company of the State of Pará (Emater-Pará), signed this week a Technical Cooperation Agreement (TCA) with the City Hall of Aveiro, in the southwest of Pará, focusing on strengthening cocoa farming and developing family agriculture in the region.
The partnership aims to expand the offer of technical assistance to rural producers, with an emphasis on the implementation and management of Agroforestry Systems (SAFs), a productive model that combines environmental preservation and income generation. Thus, the initiative directly contributes to increasing the productivity and quality of cocoa cultivated in the municipality, promoting a better quality of life for the families served.
Technical support and public policies in the countryside
With the formalization of the agreement, Emater-Pará reaffirms its commitment to the internalization of public policies aimed at family agriculture, especially in hard-to-reach areas. The action is also aligned with the State Government's strategy to consolidate Pará as a national reference in sustainable cocoa production.

“This signing reinforces the commitment of the Government of Pará to expand technical assistance for rural workers and strengthens the services provided by Emater to family farmers, to benefit the lives of rural workers by bringing public policies,” highlighted the president of Emater-Pará, Dr. Joniel Abreu.
Sustainability and development
Cocoa farming has gained prominence as a viable alternative for sustainable rural development in different regions of the state. In Aveiro, strengthening this productive chain has encouraged more resilient and economically profitable agricultural practices, contributing to the reduction of deforestation and the productive inclusion of hundreds of families.
