The State Department of Education (Seduc) continues with the schedule of technical visits to the Regional Education Directorates (DREs). This Wednesday (27), the team was in Santarém, in western Pará, to closely understand the reality of state schools and to dialogue with managers, teachers, students, and the school community.

The DRE of Santarém is responsible for the management of 44 schools distributed across four municipalities, including urban and rural areas, with five full-time units. During the agenda, the Secretary of State for Education, Ricardo Sefer, visited elementary and high schools, such as the Richard Hennington State Schools, Dom Tiago Ryan, Barão do Tapajós, Almirante Soares Dutra, Frei Ambrósio, and Álvaro Adolfo da Silveira.

Approach to the network

The head of Seduc emphasized that the initiative aims to strengthen the connection between state management and the education network.
“I came to listen and try to solve the problems. I am sure that I will not solve them all, nor alone. But, with the sum of efforts, we will be able to build quality public education in the State,” said Ricardo Sefer.

He also highlighted that direct contact with the school community is essential to identify challenges and seek practical solutions.

Recognition from the school community

For the director of the Almirante Soares Dutra State School, Professor Simão Serique dos Santos, the visit was a milestone for the institution. “For the first time, we received the secretary here at the school. It was an opportunity to show the progress we have made with the resources received and also to present the community's demands, such as the construction of a new gym, which is an old desire of the students and teachers,” he reported.

The initiative was received as a gesture of appreciation and commitment from the Government of Pará to public education in the Tapajós region, reinforcing the dialogue between the State and the school community.
